Despite no word from Beck, River was simply more at ease as I spent the week at his apartment. He even talked to both my parents and brothers about taking more legal steps towards Beck because it wasn't cutting it anymore and my safety was simply at risk whenever it came to Beck.
"You want me to what?" I question my editor.
"Do something plot-twisting, kill one of the mains," she suggested. I gap at her through my phone, practically shooting bullets at her.
"Uh no," I deadpan. "That's not, that's what no, plain no," I tell her.
"Belle," She sighs, and the apartment door swings open, revealing River in all his post-run glory, fuck me and his glistening abs.
"No, I'm sorry. I'm not killing off one of my main characters, I'll send you my finished chapters by six tonight," I tell her and press the end call button.
"Killing off one of your mains huh?" River says from the kitchen. I don't even bother to look up at him as I sigh and rub my forehead.
"If you knew how the story goes, you'd agree with me that it isn't the right choice," I mumble and stand up, grabbing my glass of water. "It's a fucking joke that's what it is,"
"Oh come on don't say that," he says behind me as I dump the rest of my water down the drain and place the glass in the sink. I put my hands on the counter and sigh leaning forward.
"Sorry," I mumble, "she just stresses me out," I say and glance back at him. He was leaned back on the counter, sipping on his water and from how quickly his eyes averted up I knew he was checking me out.
"Well, most work stresses everyone out," he says simply and I look forward again, I listen to his footsteps coming closer, and soon my long hair was pulled off my shoulder slowly and I feel his breath as he dips his head into my neck.
"Don't discredit yourself, not now, not when you've come this far," he whispers in my ear and I shiver a bit. I grip the counter a bit tighter. "Give yourself some credit," he tells me his nose grazing my skin. I gulp.
"I give myself at least ten percent of the credit," I tell him and he hums gripping my hip gently.
"You deserve a lot more than just ten percent," he murmurs as he pulls me against him and I feel him. I lean my head back a bit as he finally places his lips on my neck, sucking softly before trailing up.
A low moan comes from him as I move my hips against him, "tell me to stop and I will," he says shocking me with his words but his hand leaving my hip and following my waist pant to the button of my jeans says otherwise.
"Belle," he says biting on my ear gently.
"What if I don't want you to stop," I say rushed.
"You are a vixen without even trying and you are certainly killing me," He tells me pulling his head away a bit.
"I guess you'll be needing a cold shower then huh?" I ask leaning to my side to look up at him. He shakes his head at me.
"See, vixen," he confirms tugging on the waistband of my jeans before returning his hand to my hip before pulling back. I clear my throat as he steps back.
My phone rings on the coffee table, I groan and push away from River, "I swear to god if that's her, I'm going to fire her," I say annoyed picking it up and pressing accept. "What?" I ask her.
"Hello to you too," Aurora, my agent laughs. I sigh.
I feel River place his hand on my elbow and I turn around, "I'm going to go shower," he whispers to me and I nod.
