Jungkook let out a sigh, doing one final wipe of the table that the last customers used, making it clean again for any new customers. He was so drained from working two different jobs that it was finally taking effect on his young body.
"Jungkook! Taehyung should be here soon but I need to run out because we're short on stock, I'll be right back. But if he is here before I come back to make his order." Jimin warned, grabbing his coat because it was bitter cold outside. Jungkook wasn't prepared to make an order all on his own but he didn't want to worry Jimin either so he refrained from rejecting.
"He likes hot chocolate... I think... I can't remember... w-will he want me to know in advance?" Jungkook thought. He blatantly sucks with dealing with customers. He has horrible memory besides the most useless memories or knowledge he has stored in his brain and he wasn't very social if you hadn't already figured that out.
Jungkook just hoped and prayed that he'll be able to make it through this. He's only ever worked alone at the convenience store because all he had to do was give food and take money. It required no special skill which is the reason he was hired in the first place.
The thought made him feel sick to the very pit of his stomach.
"Hey, cutie pie."
"T-Taehyung." Jungkook whispered, bowing politely, showing his best manners. "H-hi."
"Jimin is not here? Will you be able to handle my order?" Taehyung cooed sweetly, trying to start a polite and joking conversation but he didn't know how worried Jungkook became when hearing that comment. The boy's already low confidence plummeted to the ground, it felt like it was getting crushed beneath someone's foot.
"N-no... I'm sorry... but I'll try my best."
Taehyung knew immediately he chose the wrong words when he spoke to Jungkook. Still, it's a learning experience for him on how to act with the nerve wrecked boy. "I'll like whatever you hand me. Y-you don't have to be so nervous. I assure you."
"S-sorry, I'm new... w-what would you like to h-have?" Jungkook questioned, hands shaking nervously. He should know the order by now because Kim Taehyung is a regular customer but he gets too scared to stay in the same room as him that he runs at every chance he gets.
"That's no problem, hot chocolate is fine." Taehyung is far more precise when it comes to Jimin making his drinks but he wants to make it easy enough for Jungkook to grasp without any problems.
"O-okay." Jungkook gave a firm nod before grabbing a disposable cup and started brewing the drink while trying to avoid any eye contact with Taehyung.
"How's working here?" Taehyung forced small talk onto the younger- or that's how Jungkook sees it at least. Now he had to think of a decent response.
"Good... Jimin is nice to me. Like a big brother." Jungkook whispered the last part but meant it all the same. It was just awkward for him to say it to someone he doesn't know very well.
Besides the drink that Jungkook was making, however, Tae wanted to try and ask Jungkook a question which he has been trying to muster up the courage to ask for far too long now. It's nearly been almost a week since the two ate breakfast in that restaurant.
"J-Jungkook... um... I was wondering if you were seeing anyone romantically? Like... a-are you single?" Taehyung muttered, awkwardly scratching the back on his neck as he watched the younger pour the hot drink into the throw-away cup.
Jungkook tensed up. Where exactly was he going with this? "N-no... I'm not seeing anyone..."
Taehyung let out a sigh in relief with an innocent grin tugging at his lips. "Great! Well... I was wondering if I could take you out to dinner sometime? I have actually liked you for a really long time. Y-you seem like a really nice guy and I want to get to know you better."
