Jungkook's heart fell to the pit of his chest as he looked into Taehyung's eyes. He wished to see some form of emotion in his eyes. However, if anything it looked like Taehyung had just witnessed a ghost. The colour in his skinned drained, leaving a shell of a man behind.
"Haha! JK! I-it was just a joke. Haha..." Jungkook quickly spoke to try and lighten the mood.
He wished he didn't tell him.
He wished he kept it a secret.
He wished he could take it back.
Salty tears brimmed Jungkook's eyes as he stared at Taehyung. He wanted him to laugh with him. Even if it was a lie, at least they would be happy in a pretty lie.
What scared him more than the blank expression on his face was the silence. He didn't even try to speak once after Jungkook. It was then that the tears poured from his eyes and he began to silently cry. Allowing the tears to fall on his shaking fists grasping the hem of the woolen blanket that Taehyung draped over him what seemed like a long time ago.
Taehyung pulled one hand away from the steering wheel and raised it up to Jungkook's swollen cheek, wiping the tears away. "Did you really go through all of that?"
Jungkook nodded as he let out a soft little whimper, bringing his hands up to rub at his eyes and trying to hide the tears. "Sorry..."
Taehyung softly took Jungkook's hands in his and pulled his hands away from his face. When Jungkook forced his eyes to open and look at him.
He finally felt his heart beat again when he saw Taehyung softly smile at him. "It's okay. I want you to be honest with me. It makes me happy that you can open up to me like this."
"Are you upset?" Jungkook asked, letting out little sniffles.
"Not at all. I'm sorry for scaring you." Taehyung cooed at the younger. He wanted to place a reassuring kiss on his cheek but he had to keep his eyes on the road since he was still driving. "When did that last happen to you?"
"Last week," Jungkook muttered with a small sniffle as he tried to calm the unshed tears in his eyes that made it hard for him to blink.
"So it's still ongoing?" Taehyung queered, heartbroken by the sudden revelation. He couldn't believe that his boyfriend was going through this. He could feel a lump in his throat that just won't go away, making it hard for him to speak anymore.
"Y-you can say that..." Jungkook muttered while staring blankly at his lap. "I know how it might sound, but, once you're put in that situation it's really hard to get out. For a long period of time I wasn't able to get a job. Everywhere needs your address and credit card information to pay you. I don't have either. But when I was able to find somewhere that pays you cash in hand I'm under-qualified because I never went to college. I'm not lazy, I swear."
"Its fine, love. You don't need to explain yourself to me. I believe in everything you say." Taehyung cooed, taking one hand off the steering wheel and bringing to across to caress Jungkook's face. "Thank you for telling me this. I believe honesty is precious in a relationship which is why I'm so happy you told me considering how hard it must be."
"Thanks, Hyung." Jungkook sighed in relief, leaning into Taehyung's touch. His hand was so warm and soft.
"Jungkook, if you'd like. I would be so happy to have you live with me. Of course I know we're both very new in the relationship, we haven't been dating for very long so if you feel uncomfortable about it than I totally understand. You can have your own bedroom or if you'd like we could share the master bedroom? I am quite the cuddled however I must warn you." Taehyung blabbers on talking about his sleeping habits which might seem annoying or off putting to some, Jungkook found it cute. It made him smile.
