Chapter 4: Return to CHB

Percy's POV:

Yesterday was the day before we were going to return to Camp Half Blood for the summer. However, Lady Athena has been stopping by often to train Annabeth and myself, how to wield a spear. I thought it was a tad bit suspicious, of course, but was never proven right till yesterday, when Athena came and challenged Annabeth and myself to a fight...well, a spear fight with Annabeth and I being able to use powers, well me but that's not the point. 

So I immediately summoned lightning to myself and imbued my spear with it. Which shocked, pun intended, Annabeth as she didn't know I could do this. Then again I do think I might have forgot to tell her about Lord Zeus blessing me.

Anyways, we fought her mother and Annabeth was knocked away 20 minutes after we started and I followed sometime after. 

After an exchange of words of me telling Lady Athena, that she won, and a whole bunch of other blah blah, she insulted me slightly, praised her daughter's improvement with a spear, and left.

Today, though, mom was dropping Annabeth and myself off at camp herself because we were all the way in Rocky Mountain National Park, which would mean it would take us a good while to get all the way to New York.

Mom flashed us to the top of half-blood hill right next to Thalia's pine tree, which did not look too good. Annabeth was pretty upset at seeing the state of the tree, as it was her friend and older sister figure whom was the spirit of the tree, and this was just like losing her again. We walked down into camp's borders only to be greeted by Clarisse, who looked a little angry, but also happy at seeing us, "Do you two know how unbearable it was dealing with these idiots and getting them to work border patrol" she said angrily, and now I knew why she was mad and it wasn't at us.

"Camp restarted border patrol" Annabeth asked

"Yeah we did princess, Beckendorf, Silena, and their cabins are looking for old automatons that used to help guard the camp but are currently missing. My cabin is in charge of border patrol, and your cabin is refusing to participate Annabeth, Demeter's and Dionysius's kids are doing their best to keep the tree alive, but they are predicting 3 weeks max and as early as two weeks until the border fails, completely. and the others are only tagging along with my cabin until they start flooding in tomorrow hopefully" The daughter of Ares fumed

"You lost fighters didn't you and not to attacks" I asked and Clarisse nodded

"They went missing without a word, and now Chiron is being blamed, as Zeus wants someone to point the finger at, and in my opinion it looks like he was set up" She said

"So there's either a traitor or whoever it is trying to get Chiron out of the way to get camp weaker" Annabeth and I said. Now, look I may hate the horse, but even I don't deny he's a good trainer...when being unbiased or not prejudice.

"Yeah he leaves tonight" Clarisse said, "and his replacement was chosen by Mr.D". Well shit this is going to be bad, like seriously, if it was Zeus, he probably would have picked Heracles, or some other heroes from Elysium, heck most of the other gods would choose from Elysium, but Dionysius hates it here so he's probably going to pick horribly, even if it effects his own kids.

"Well that sucks" Annabeth and I said at the same-time

"Would you two stop doing that it's creepy" Clarisse said, "Anyways, you both should probably inform Mr.D of your return"

"Alright we'll see you later and talk about integrating my siblings into border patrol" Annabeth said, as she started dragging me off to the big house.

"Thanks, it will most certainly help" Clarisse shouted after us, probably going back to helping out boarder patrol.

LINE BREAK

We arrived at the big house, only to see that Chiron has packed up most of his things, "It's good seeing you back here Annabeth"Chiron said, happy at her return, "and Percy"

"Look if you're apollogizing it's a bit too late for that, and if you are trying to teach me those same lessons as last time, it's not going to work. I am completely fine with hating Poseidon, and the old sea god hating me" I said, and Chiron went quiet after that, before saying he had one last lesson to teach, and leaving us.

Annabeth and I walked in and knocked on Dionysius's door, only for him to open it and start hugging me, "Ohh thank my sister you are back, nephew" he said leaning on me.

"You do know Annabeth is here too right" I said, and he just seemed to take notice of that.

"Don't speak of this to anyone Anniebelle" Uncle D said

"Of course, Lord Dionysius"  she said, which got a questioning glare from the god before he turned back to me.

"So why are you here in the big house, I figured you would just drop your stuff off at your cabin and hit the Arena" Uncle D said

"Clarisse suggested we come and tell you that we have returned to Camp for the summer" Annabeth said

"Oh smart of her I suppose, almost reminds me of her father, when he's being serious" He said, and I'm pretty sure he meant Lord Mars, as Ares is practically never serious. The latter just wants blood and battle, whereas the former is more like Athena when it comes to war and actually cares about those under his command. "Anyways how was your time accompanying my sisters hunt Anniebelle" He continued, and is he starting to open up to more than just me at camp.

"It was great. I got a set of knives, a spear, and a new bow. In which I was trained extensively in all three, but the lieutenant was a little annoying to start, but it got better as time went on" Annabeth said excitedly.

"Glad you enjoyed it, but now I believe it is time for you to get your siblings on boarder patrol rotation and to get settled in here for the summer to come" Uncle D said, ushering her out of the big house for her to do just that.

"Now nephew, don't hate me" he started but I interrupted him

"You choose some asshole from the fields of punishment to replace Chiron" I said

"How did you know"

"I figure you would like to make the other demigods miserable because you are as well" I said

"hhhhmmmm You might know me better than I thought" he said, "but you should get going, and try to be on boarder patrol at night I know the moon's light energizes you, so it should be of some help, and ease some of the campers" He said

"I'll do night patrol in the latter half of nighttime or early morning, I'll be there the whole night on the full moon or if need be" I said walking out of the big house to go back to my mom's oh so lonely cabin.
