Y/n's POV: "Y/N!!" I jolt awake at the sound of my mother yelling my name from downstairs, "you better be up, or you are going to be late for your first day!" she shouts again, my eyes go wide, I turn to see my clock on my bedside table "shit" I mumble and throw my covers off my body jumping out of my bed "yeah, yeah I'm up!" I respond back to my impatient mom still waiting downstairs. Yet another first day at a new school, I would say I'm excited but that would definitely be a lie. I hate moving but at the very least I know my way around most high schools since I got kicked out of a fair few due to 'miss behaviour' yeah right all I do is speak my mind. I guess you could call me the troublemaker type, but I know my boundaries. Most of my attitude comes from me retaliating to the behaviour of other people which is quite often with how close minded teenagers are, guess I can thank society for that.
I never knew my dad; he ran out of mine and my mom's lives when I was four. If I'm completely honest I never want to meet him, it has always been me and my mom and I like it that way. I came out to her when I was sixteen and she was really supportive even though she said she "already knew" so thanks mom, you could have at least given me a heads up it would save me all the years of confusion. I wasn't ever scared to tell her because we are so close, I knew she would never treat me differently, who I was worried about telling were my friends. I lost a few due to their homophobic views but there was always my best friend that never left my side. Anna, she is more like my sister, since we grew up together, however I can't deny that I did have a small crush on her, it may still be on going.
Anyway enough about my backstory, I need to get ready. Walking up to my mirror and running my hand through my hair just scanning over my body before reaching into my wardrobe to choose the outfit of the day. I receive a text and look down at my phone, smiling as my best friend's contact name pops up.
Anna:
Good morning bitch x
Me:
Heyyy, good morning dickhead x
Anna:
You excited to finally be going to the same school together? x
Me:
If I'm completely honest that's the only thing that's going to be good about this, so yeah x
Anna:
Don't lie you know you want to see all the 'hot girls' lol x
Me:
Okay maybe that's another thing but come on now you can't tell me that if you were in my position, you wouldn't do the exact same x
Anna:
I mean you're not wrong some of the girls here are really pretty, but I'd be looking at the hot guys to x
Me:
Fair play. Anyway, stop bothering me while I'm trying to get ready! x
Anna:
Okay bitchy, love you x

I roll my eyes laughing softly putting my phone down on my dresser continuing to put on my outfit and brush my hair. When I had finished, I returned to my mirror and grabbed my phone taking a picture for Instagram:

I go to my bathroom and brush my teeth and wash my face applying a little mascara then going downstairs to see my mom "morning mom" I give her a kiss on the cheek "morning babe, I Made pancakes your favourite" she says with a smile as she hands me the plate I giggle "you know me too well. thank you" I start eating "no problem. you nervous for today?" say asks while sitting down across from me on the table as I look up from my plate and shake my head "when am I ever nervous mom? Also, I've got Anna this time, so it's bound to be even better" I smile softly, she only nods "I just hope you behave" I roll my eyes at her comment "I'll try my hardest" she chuckles and gets up taking my empty plate "that's all I ask" she kisses my forehead making me smile.
I run upstairs and grab my keys, phone and air pods then back downstairs and towards the door "I'll see you later mom!" I shout opening the front door "okay, love you darling" I smile and reply, "I love you to!" I close the door behind me and get in my car taking out my phone and texting Anna.
Me:
Hey bro, I'm on my way to school now. Meet me in the parking lot? x
Anna:
Yeah, okay just don't be long and drive safe x

I arrive at my new school and park my car in an empty space, getting out and running my hand through my hair while taking in a deep breath locking my car, a few people were staring as I walked over to Anna, I just smirked slightly. "Hey Shumate" I say with a smile "Y/l/n" she giggles, I roll my eyes "so what have we got to do first? Do we just go to class?" she nods putting her phone in her pocket and leads the way as I follow her into the classroom, she sits in her seat next to some guy and I walk up to the teacher, he nods to me "Miss Y/l/n right?" I nod with a small smile out of politeness, he looks at the rest of the students "class we have a new student today" I sigh slightly as this happens every time. He turns back to me "would you like to introduce yourself?" I look at him and shrug as I say "nah not really" he laughs it off and I roll my eyes again "okay you can sit next to Miss Beer right there" he points to someone and I lookup to what I was expecting to be a boring nerd kid, but in actual fact I was surprised to see a beautiful brunette girl sat in the place as she sends me a quick smile, I smirk and nod walking to the seat beside her and sitting down "I'm Madison" she says with a soft smile.
