Chapter 28 ~ Question

Y/n's POV:

I keep my eyes on the floor my entire body tense with anger and hurt. My eyes slowly move up from the floor looking up at her, tears brimming my eyes and she holds her hand out I take a breath and then place my hand in hers softly "can I have your car keys?" I nod and reach into my jacket pocket taking them out and handing them to her. Staying silent the whole time she then grips my hand comfortingly before we walk to my car again she gets in the driver's seat and I get in the passenger's looking down at my hands fiddling with them uncomfortably, she puts her hand over mine making me look up at her "baby talk to me, your fiddling meaning something is on your mind" I look down again because she can read me so well, I shake my head "come here" she says in a comforting voice, I move my body closer to hers she puts her arms around me, one on top of my head as I lay it on her shoulder and she rubs my back "I'm sorry baby girl" her voice breaks slightly and finally I crack and the tears start to go into her hoodie as I whimper into it, she holds me tighter "hey, look at me baby" I hesitate and then pull away looking into her eyes, tears falling from mine as she cups my face "you don't have to be so strong all the time, it's okay to break down like this. I'd be worried if you didn't" I nod and wipe the tears from my face with the sleeve of my jacket "thank you" I sniffle, she smiles softly cuddling into me again.

Finally, my mom turned up and walked to my car we both got out, she hugs Madison and me in turn "I'm sorry mom" she shakes her head "never apologise for loving who you want to love" I gulp and nod "what are you going to do?" Madison asks, my mom shrugs "say whatever comes to my head, nobody messes with my girls" we both smile giggling slightly and follow her to the front office while I hold Madison's hand. We walk into the principal's office together and he tells us to sit "I assume you have heard of the situation we are in currently?" my mum says with an eyebrow raise making me smirk because I know she is going to go off at this guy "no I haven't actually, enlighten me" he replies and she takes a deep breath "Y/n and Madison's geometry teacher has threatened to suspend them and put them in detention" he rolls his eyes "and why is this?" she looks at both of us and then to him again "at first it was because they didn't have their homework" he leans back in his chair "well ma'am that is the punishment for uncompleted work" she shakes her head "no you don't understand, they both were not in school that entire week" she glances at Madison as if to ask if it was okay to talk about, she nods "Madison was in hospital having surgery and Y/n was with her." He nods understanding "okay that makes sense, continue" she looks down taking another breath and I gently grab her shoulder "it's okay" I whisper, she nods looking up at him again "he said he would suspend them for being in a relationship" he looks at us confused "I don't understand" I keep my hand in Madison's "he said it was disgusting that we are dating and then kicked me out of the classroom. He tried to say that I forced Madison into dating me" he looks down sighing "he suspended us because he doesn't like the fact that two girls are in love" Madison added, he nods "I'm sorry you've been put through this, I hope you have recovered from your surgery Madison" she smiles and nods as he looks back at us again "you two will not be suspended just for your sexuality and I will be taking this further with the member of staff in question." We all smile and go to stand up "thank you sir" I say, he nods. We walk to the door, he speaks again "Y/n?" I turn around "yes sir?" he smiles "she brings out the best in you" I looked back at Madi; I nod smiling "I know."

Madison's POV:

God she's so cute. Y/n blushes and I cover my mouth when I realise, I said that out loud "that wasn't meant to-" she kisses my cheek while walking out of the office shutting the door behind her "it's okay baby, so are you" I blush and we made our way back to the parking lot "okay girls, you have the day off and I'm taking you out because you deserve it" we look at each other excited but I look back to my mom "you don't have to do-" "nonsense after the day you've just had you both need this" Madison smiles "thank you mom" I roll my eyes at her playfully and she just smiled sweetly, we all get in my mom's car and made our way to the mall.

Y/n's POV:

We arrived and were walking around the different stores, looking at a few different things. I had bought Madi a teddy bear from 'Build a Bear' because she said she had always wanted one. She continued to walked around the mall with its head poking out the top of her backpack like a child, she didn't seem to care, because she loved it. After about a half hour we decided to buy something to eat and get a drink. Madison offered to pay for us all, but I was adamant that I would pay, she had no chance of winning this.

After we finished our food and drinks, we went to a few more stores for my mom to buy some clothes before Madison said she needed the bathroom, both me and my mother waited outside for her until she finished. While we were waiting, I decided to tell my mum my plan for after graduation "mom can I talk to you about something?" I asked and she nodded smiling "of course you can" I scratch the back of my neck nervously "okay so me and Madi graduate in a week, right?" she nods for me to continue "well I had a plan of something I wanna do after and I was hoping you could help me with it." She glances at the entrance to the bathroom "okay, what is it?" I took a deep breath "I want to..."

My mum looked at me expectantly as I paused out of nervousness "You want to what?" I shake my head and finally get the confidence to say it "I want to propose to Madison" looking up at my mom as she stands there shocked "please say something" her shocked expression turns into a smile and she pulls me into a hug, I gasped and then relaxed in her arms "you're okay with this?" she nods excitedly "it's clear you two are made for each other" I blushed and she hugged me again "I'm so proud of you for this" I pull away after a little "one problem" I pause "I don't have a ring" my mother smirks "I've been waiting for this moment..." she opens her handbag and reaches into a secret pocket taking out a small box "this was your grandmothers, she wanted me to give it to you for when you made this decision" I looked down at the small velvet red box in her hands "a- are you sure?" she smiles nodding "positive, Madison is the perfect girl for you" I hear Madison start to walk out of the bathroom and she winked at me putting it back in her back for me.

My girlfriend walked up to us "the line was so long, but there was this adorable dog and she kept jumping up at me for me to pet her" she says excitedly, I just smiled at her cuteness "you are adorable" she blushes looking back to my mom "do we need to get anything else?" she replies by shaking her head "nope, that's all. Y/n?" I look at her and smile "nope, I got my girl. That's all I need" Madison blushed heavily, I kissed her cheek "god you are a simp" I heard my mother joke "oh hush, who wouldn't be a simp for Madison Beer" my girlfriend smirks slightly "what if I wanted to be Madison Y/l/n?" I bite my lip looking at her as I smiled happily "I'm sure I can arrange that" I say with a giggle "okay future Mrs Y/l/n, are we ready to go home?" she giggles at the name and nods happily "yes future Mrs Beer" I blushed "oh yeah? I like the sound of that" she raises her eyebrow "mhm, I do to" I kiss her softly before we all made our way back to the car.

This chapter is quite short but the next one will be longer hopefully, also I'm thinking of finishing this story at about chapter 30 what do you think?
