This man has my heart. Born and raised as a Hibs fan, came up through the academy and now a regular starter for us.

He's never afraid of a tackle (sometimes gets him into a bit of trouble but he's getting better with experience) and he's even burst a few balls during tackles in his time and he's only 21 😳.

He's everything you want your centre-back to be.

James Taverneir, a 29 year old professional, refused to shake hands post match with Ryan Porteous, a 21 year old. 😳

Steven Gerrard also refused him despite giving Joe Newell a fist bump...

There are plenty moments against Hearts, Aberdeen, Celtic etc too but Google is only showing me him v Rangers so sorry about that!

He went off injured tonight after Morelos stamped on his leg, on purpose. By the letter of the law, it is a blatant sending off. If you don't believe me, it's Law 12 (fouls and misconduct).

Anyway, this is supposed to be about Porto and not about the incompetence of the referees because that's something else entirely.

Anyway, Ryan Porteous is amazing on and off the pitch and everyone should love him because he's a class act.

I hope his thigh (yes, the one that Morelos stomped on) is better in time for our next game 🥺

P.P.S. Irvine Welsh was right about about playing this fixture behind closed doors on Hibs TV.

I wouldn't normally include this because I try to hide my hatred for Rangers and Celtic. I have friends on here who are fans of them both but I'm done covering up for both teams.

Irvine Welsh was referring to the sectarian singing. It's disgusting and genuinely makes me feel unsafe and terrified, even at Easter Road so it's not a fixture I miss all too much.

That's all I'm going to say about the matter. Look it up for yourself. You'll find lots of things.

Of course, this doesn't go for all fans but in my experience, it applies to a huge number of them. And to all of my Celtic and Rangers supporting friends, you might have picked the wrong teams (joking!) but I still love you dearly! ❤️

No disrespect to my friends! I'm not calling you out at all. Like I said, it's only a proportion of fans and not all of them.

Beware of Ryan Porteous because as much as it pains me, he won't be at Hibs forever. If he ever plays against your team, you better be prepared because the guy is a brick wall. He'll tear up whatever league he ends up in in the future.
