𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐

So I asked for your unpopular football opinions and I got lots of responses so thank you for not letting me flop, I love you all!

Before we get into this, I know you're all lovely people and won't do this but I'd just like to reiterate that this is a safe space and we will not attack anyone for having a difference in opinion. This is all supposed to be light hearted and a bit of fun. If I see anyone being aggressive, name calling etc, I won't hesitate to delete the comment. We're all mature enough to agree to disagree ❤️

I should also add that none of these were submitted by me because I physically can't do it. Idk if I should be able to or not but none of these are mine.

Onto some controversial opinions! Feel free to discuss in the comments and add your comments to each point but remember to be kind.

1. Joe Gomez isn’t even a good defender. It’s only because he had Virgil van Dijk next to him that he had a good season last year. Discuss.

2. Ruben Dias has had a better impact on Man City than VVD has had on Liverpool. Discuss.

3. Bruno Fernandes is overrated. Discuss.

4. Kieran Tierney is a better all round left back than Robertson. Kieran can attack and defend effectively but Robertson can only really attack. He's not as strong defensively. Discuss.

5. Jack Grealish is over hated. Yes, he gets fouled a lot and some of them are dives but everyone dives. Nobody talks about Salah or Maddison diving. Grealish is intelligent and draws the foul to break up play and give his team a rest, exactly what any good captain would do. Discuss.

6. Yes, Liverpool have injuries but so do every team? I get that it's key players but Sheffield United have lost all of their back 4 and are fighting relegation but because they're not as big a club as Liverpool, nobody talks about it. They have more squad depth and money to deal with it. Discuss.

7. I think Lionel Messi isn’t the greatest ever, because he only performed in one league at one club. Even though his achievements are some I could dream of, I still think that because of that he isn’t the greatest to ever play the game. Discuss.

8. oh god i have wayyy too many...one is that a lot of football fans are suuuper toxic, like how everyone got triggered over john stones and harry maguire hugging. i think intense rivalries have become too ingrained in football to the point where fans straight up hate each other just for the team they support. Discuss.

9. We should have stopped blaming “the lack of fans” for poor results a month into project restart. Discuss.

10. Spurs aren’t top six and nor is Arsenal. Discuss.

11. Celtic are only good in the SPL, Rangers are good in more than just the league. Discuss.

12. My unpopular football opinion. I have to think about it...umm probably that a lot of people sleep on Eastern European footballers, teams and their respective leagues. And the fans are so so different from anything we usually see. Yes, the quality sometimes can be much lower to what we are used to, but I think they deserve a chance and it isn't as bad as some would say. Discuss.

13. The Premier League isn't the best league in the world. It's not nearly as exciting as it used to be. The players are too drilled and there's no freedom or creativity anymore. Discuss.

14. Stamford Bridge is lowkey ugly. Sorry Chelsea fans! Discuss.

15. Leeds arguably play the most exciting football in the league but they're dirty. Dirty Leeds. Discuss.

16. Scottish football is more enjoyable to watch than the Prem. People watch the Prem because of it's reputation and status. Plus, there's no VAR to ruin the game. Discuss.

17. Chilwell should have stayed at Leicester. Discuss.

18. Grealish is better than Maddison. Discuss.

19. The Belgium National Team should not be this good for such a small country. It is insane. What to Belgiums eat more of? Does chocolate actually help? Discuss. (This one is personally my favourite 😂)

20. People hate on Manchester united too much. Yes, they get penalties but so does everyone? I get that some of them are bad calls but everyone in the league has both benefitted and lost out due to bad var calls. They're allowed to be annoyed when things don't go their way. Discuss.

22. the referees are rangers’ 12th man. Discuss.

23. Celtic and Rangers condone the sectarianism by their fans because it gets them money. It's because of their sectarianism that they get money and dominate the leagues. Funny how all the non-sectarian teams are left behind... Discuss.

This was really fun so I might do this again some point soon. I might even do a non-football related one!
