Today I woke up with a giant headache, which was the last thing I needed considering tonight I have to go to the fight club night. I woke up this morning in the same position I was in last night when I fell asleep. We were all in the same positions, actually, with a highlight reel of fights playing on the tv. I left as quickly as I could, hoping not to wake them, and I finished my bottle of water from the night before, topping it off with some painkillers.
I spent the day curled up in a ball in my room and lightly napping as my hungover-ness fades. I'm just lucky I didn't get sick. I heard all the guys leaving around 1 pm but didn't bother saying bye. I'll see them tonight anyway.
I ended up watching a movie and trying to read that same damn book with no success. It wasn't until around 10 pm that Louis came into my room trying to get me ready to go. These things always last all night so I'm glad I was napping earlier.
I roll out of bed and throw on a large plain black short sleeve shirt. Black was always the dress code for this thing. As I got ready I started to feel a little excited. I was focusing less on seeing other people there and more on spending time with the guys. We always have a blast at these get togethers. It's where I really got to know them, all that time ago.
I lightly curl my hair and throw it in a pony tail, letting my bangs fall to the sides of my face. Louis comes back in a few minutes later and asks if I'm ready.
I throw on my black converse to match my black leggings and shirt and follow him out the door. Our parents know about this event and it's the only time we're allowed out all night. They know how important it is to us.
Niall is already parked in the driveway with Zayn and Liam in the back. I hop in the back with them as Louis goes to the passenger seat. Music is blasting from the stereos but it's actually exciting, and not just deafening.
"Are we ready!" Niall shouts as he pulls out of my neighborhood and all the guys yell back to him with just as much passion.
We spend the drive singing karaoke to songs that you wouldn't expect this tough crew to be listening to.
When we arrive we already notice all the cars parked outside. There are loads of them with people swarming around the parking lot dressed in dark colors as well. The guys and I have always worn black to these. I think it's cute but they say it makes us look badass.
We get out of the car and huddle around the trunk. Niall pulls out a black backpack and hands it to me to put on. They all grab their workout bags with their clothes and gear and we head to the front doors. They always give me the backpack of alcohol for afterwards to celebrate. The club isn't technically allowed to serve it, but we would probably sneak it in anyway. It's more fun that way. The bag also has a few large wads of cash and some paper and pens for later.
We walk through the dimly lit lobby and head straight to the gym. Hundreds of people are standing around the boxing ring, which has been moved to the center of the room for nights like this. Every other light on the ceiling is turned off with one giant spotlight above the rings for dramatics.
The guys head for the locker rooms so I stop and look at the lady at the table with a sign in sheet for the fighters.
"Hi, here to sign in?" She asks in a high pitched voice.
"Yes, thanks." She hands me a clipboard and I write out each of their names.
Louis Tomlinson
Zayn Malik
Liam Payne
Niall Horan
I hand her back the sheet with a smile and walk around the table to the giant bracket painted onto the cement bricks. I assess the line up to the best of my abilities. Each of the guys are fighting someone who's name I don't know, so I can assure they'll do fine. I'm surprised to not see Harry's name written on the board, which makes me let out a breath I was holding, hoping to not have to deal with him tonight.
