Being back at school felt better than I expected, except the fact that everyone bombarded me with questions on how it felt to be saved by Spiderman.  It was rather annoying and aggravating. It made me nervous and uncomfortable to say the least. I escaped the persistent crowds between second and third period by purposefully locking myself in a cubicle.

I managed to let out a heavy breath as I leaned my back against the cubicle door and closed my eyes, trying to regain some of the calmness I walked into school with this morning. I heard the unmistakable sound of the bathroom door opening and the footsteps of at least two people clickety-clacking against the tiles.

"It sucks being back at school. I could've gone with another two weeks of staying at home."

I heard Alice's voice mutter. She was part of the popular group of girls you get at every high school, a group Liz was a part of, of course. I perked my ears and transparently invaded their conversation. I knew I shouldn't but who could pass up an opportunity like this. Any person who have ever read a teen fiction knows the school lavatory is where the secrets speak for themselves.

"Are you still on for the party on Friday?" Alice's voice came again, a bit more audible this time than the last.

"You did invite Peter and the rest, didn't you?"

The voice I heard was surprisingly not Liz's voice, but MJ's. Hearing her voice spiked my interest and I listened attentively.  Since when did she congregate with Alice? From what I heard, she and Anastasia despised the golden girls more than anything in the world.

"Yes, but I still need to find Sage Stark and invite her too. Imagine the glib if a Stark shows up at my party. It will be the talk of the town." Alice said in a high-pitched tone, her voice echoeing off the empty walls.

"I thought we agreed not to invite Sa--" MJ started but Alice cut her off.

"MJ, if you want to catch Peter Parker's attention, you need to start thinking outside of the box. Sage is a part of your friend group, right?"

"Yeah but--"

"If Peter finds out that Sage wasn't invited he will start asking questions. He'll figure out the plan. Remember, this is Peter Parker we're talking about. The guy with like five AP classes."

I heard MJ sigh before she talked again. "Fine."

The bell rang in the distance and I heard them scurrying about before leaving the bathroom. I flung my backpack over my shoulder and unlocked the cubicle before I exited the bathroom, falling into step with the throngs of students heading to their next classes.

I had to talk to Peter and tell him about what I heard. If my suspicions were correct, MJ was planning something devious and reached out to Alice for help. The question was how she got Alice to agree to whatever she was planning. She couldn't possibly climb the social ladder so quick that she became one of them in only a matter of a few hours. MJ was probably promising something in return, something Alice couldn't resist and would die without, or she had something on Alice that she could blackmail her with.

Luckily I had Chemistry with Peter and as I stepped into the class, I saw Peter already sitting at our joined desk. I walked over to him and slumped into my seat, putting my bag at the foot of the chair with a faint thud.

"Peter, we have to talk."

He turned his liquid gaze upon me and my eyes roamed his features that were painted in some cuts from the mission. "What's wrong, Sage?"

"Don't go to Alice's party on Friday." I blurted out, deciding to yield to the point, although deep down I knew it wasn't the right approach.

"What?" Peter asked with furrowed brows.
