The temprature in the room I was confined to systematically dropped, making me shiver in response to the biting cold. My wounds were searing as a reminder that they haven't healed themselves like they're suppose to.
The chair I was restrained to was the only thing keeping me upright. My muscles were burning and my head was throbbing with the information Thanos poured unwillingly into my head.
I was the fifth element. The last of my bloodline. I stemmed from Asgard. My mother and father weren't my biological parents. My whole life was a lie. I secretly knew the hurt Loki experienced when he found out he was lied to all his life - that he had pure Jötunheim blood running through his veins.
The room was eerily silent making my ears ring. I feverishly searched the room for the thousandth time, probing for a way out of this hell hole. I shimmied beneath the restraints only to have them pierce my skin further.
A familiar bellow echoed throughout the entire building, sending my hopes sky-rocketing. Hulk. I laughed to myself out of pure, incandescent relief but the smile was instantly wiped from my face when Thanos boomed into the room.
"You led them here! How did you send a distress call?" Thanos raged towards me as he snapped his fingers and the ropes binding me to the chair, fell to the floor soundlessly.
"I didn't lead them here." I croaked out instinctively, not overly fond of what was coming next. "I didn't do anything."
"LIAR!" Thanos hissed and lifted me off my feet, catapulting me into the opposite wall and I audibly heard my rib break, making me cry out in pain.
The pain was unbearable, making me wrap my arms around myself and curl into a ball on the cold, hard concrete. My vision was blurry due to the pain as I helplessy watched Thanos impending towards me.
I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the impact but it never came. Instead, a loud blast bounced off the walls and when I opened my eyes, Thanos had been violently blasted back into the wall. My gaze flitted towards the source of the impact and my heart blossomed in my chest.
"Loki." I breathed out raucously.
At the sound of my voice, Loki jolted towards me and lowered himself onto his knees, levelling himself with me as I struggled into a sitting position. He said nothing, instead he remained immensely cold as he placed his hand on my shoulder and shut his eyes.
I felt a spark of magic penetrating my flesh and seeping into my veins. The searing pain gradually dimmed down until it was simply twinging slightly. Loki's eyes fluttered open and he observed me thoroughly.
"The spell I placed upon you is not indefinite. We desperately need to get you back to the Tower for medical tending to."
"Loki!" I cried as Thanos approached him from behind and swatted him out of the way forceably. "NO!"
Thanos pulled me up from the floor and his arms coiled around my neck, squeezing the air out of my lungs. Loki swayed from side-to-side as he got to his feet.
"Leave her be, Thanos." He behested solely, limping forward.
"The Tessaract." Thanos bellowed.
My brows came together in confusion as I watched Thanos and Loki exchanging scrutinizing glances before Loki waved his hands and the Tessaract appeared in thin air, glowing as it lowered into Loki's palm.
"Loki, no," I beseeched airily, "don't give it to him."
Thanos' arms locked tighter around my throat, making me splutter in response. "Quiet, mortal! The Tessaract for the girl."
