'I hear a heart beating...she's here...' A girl prowled inside a reseach building in the middle of the night, a white mask with a painted grin and a hood covering her identity, and her body was fully covered by black clothing. She immediately hid in the darkness of the hallway, stalking her target: a woman who was silently typing away in her computer.
The girl adjusted her black gloves as she observed the woman. The woman's attention was completely fixated to her computer screen, until she felt that she was being watched. She immediately stood up and looked around, grabbing a box cutter from her desk to defend herself.
'I have to get this over with quickly.' The girl thought, grabbing a nearby flower vase and smashing it against the wall.
"Who's there?" The woman said, getting near the source of the sound, and as soon as she was in the hallway, the half-broken vase made impact with her back. The hooded girl kicked the back of her knees strong enough to dislocate them, and the woman screamed in agony as she tried to hold herself up with one arm, desperately holding on to her box cutter.
"S-stay back..!" She blurted out, her face contorting in fear as she forced herself to face the hooded girl. The girl burst out in laughter, slowly walking towards her. "I said stay back!"
The woman slashed the box cutter around, but soon she no longer felt the box cutter in her hands...no, she no longer felt her hands at all. As she opened her eyes, she saw her last blurry sight, a girl with a maniacal painted grin surrounded by faint blue lights...holding her hands and her heart in her gloved hands.
The girl neatly placed the woman's heart and hands on the ground next to the corpse. She grabbed the corpse by the arm, her power enveloping her and teleporting both her and the corpse to an empty lot. Gently placing the corpse at the bottom a pyramid-like pile of fresh corpses, she stepped on it and climbed to the top of the pile, sitting on a non-bloody spot of a corpse.
Letting out a relieved sigh and a pleased smile beneath her mask, the girl counted the corpses underneath her, taking out a notebook from her jacket and crossing out names in her list, counting each name.
"One two three...Hm?" She stopped counting, her smile turning into a frown, sighing. "She only found six targets this time? She'll probably dump a lot of work on me tomorrow." She closed her notebook and jumped off the pile. "Tch. Tomorrow's a Sunday...just when I wanted some rest. What a bother."
"Is something troubling you, master?" Two cloaked figures came out of the shadows, speaking in unison, the hoods casting a shadow and concealing their faces.
"It's nothing important." The girl said, tucking her notebook into her jacket. "Let's go home."
"Yes, my master." The figures said in unison, following her and disappearing into the night.
(Accelerator's POV)
"Eight murders?!" Yomikawa yelled at her anti-skill radio, waking me up. As if being locked out of my room and having to sleep on the couch because of the brat wasn't annoying enough, now I had to deal with this. I looked at the clock. Seven in the morning...that's too damn early to be yelling. "What?! Again?! Okay, I'll be there in an hour!" She said, running off, panicking for some stupid reason.
I yawned and pulled my blanket over my head, falling back to sleep peacefully. I slept soundly until...
"Wake up, says Misaka Misaka!" Tch. The damn brat. At times like these, I sure fucking wish that I could still reflect this brat's insignificant white noise.
"What is it, you damn brat?" I said, pulling down my blanket, just enough to uncover my eyes, glaring at her.
"Let's eat, says Misaka Misaka!" The brat said, practically screaming at my ear. "'It's gonna get cold if you don't hurry!', exclaims Misaka as Misaka points her finger at you!"
"What time is it?" I groaned, scratching the back of my head.
"Eight, says Misaka Misaka."
"It's still too damn early." I said but stood up anyway, I can never get that brat to shut up. I ate and then walked towards the fridge, looking for the last can of black coffee, but...
It was gone.
I already had a shitty morning and had to wake up early, but this was the worst part of it all.
"We're out of black coffee." I said, and both Yoshikawa and the brat ignored me. The brat locked herself in the room again and Yoshikawa was preparing her bag. "Yoshikawa."
"Yes?" She finally responded, looking up from her bag.
"We're out of coffee."
"Oh. But I have to go to work now, since my assistants are probably already waiting for me to open the lab..." She said. "Maybe you could go to the convenience store? It's not that far away."
"Fine. I'll go." I turned away, about to go out the door.
"Oh, and Yomikawa forgot her armband." Yoshikawa called out to me, tossing an armband at me. "She should be on patrol today, so, give it to her if you see her."
"Tch. When did I start running errands for you?"
"Well, you're going out anyways, so it's not much of a bother, now, is it?"
I walked out, starting an argument with Yoshikawa was a waste of my time, and I probably wouldn't see Yomikawa anyways.
I was only a few blocks away from the convenience store, but for some reason, there was a bunch of people staring at what was an empty lot when I passed by yesterday. The ever-so familiar metallic scent of blood was in the air.
"What the hell are these idiots looking at?" I muttered to myself, trying to get past the dumbasses.
I didn't want to have any physical contact with them whatsoever, so I decided to walk on the road instead of the sidewalk. There wasn't much traffic in the morning, so I couldn't care less, but a dumbass decided to step backwards and bump into me.
"Hey! Watch it!" He yelled, and I glared at him.
He didn't get the message and tried to punch me, and I turned my electrode on, deflecting his punch and breaking his arm. He turned pale and yelled, gaining the attention of the other dumbasses. He ran away as fast as he could, screaming. Probably to a hospital.
That idiot's screams gained the attention of the other idiots, so now couldn't get past them. I was pissed, and I was there anyways, so I decided to just try to look at whatever they were looking at. They stepped away from me, but even so, I could barely see anything except for a bunch of heads and the faces of anti-skill members. Then, I saw a familliar face amongst the Anti-skill members: Yomikawa.
"Get out of the way." I said, and gained some shrieks as they moved to make a path for me. As I got closer, the smell of blood got stronger.
I went under the yellow tape, seeing what these idiots were looking at: a pile of dead bodies that had their hearts or eyes ripped out, must've been a sickening sight for those idiots. I recognized most of the corpses, they were scientists and researchers that were involved in several experiments that I was in.
A murderer that targets scientists and researchers, huh? This might just be worth my time.
