Earlier in the day...
Nathan's POV
It went well. The interview went well and I'm happy that I'll be around for Nicko and Maria. It may have been my dream to rise up the navy ranks to a position my father held but I want to prioritize Maria and my son. Now I just have to quit the Navy. The Captain will be disappointed. He has high hopes in me. But if it comes down to it, she's more important. Nicko is more important. I want to be around for them.

"Is that a smile? I must admit that's rare!" Henrik, approached me. Frank and I have honored his invitation for a game of polo. I didn't want to because Vivi is here but Frank insisted I should. "Is it a woman?"

"Yeah."

Henrik approached us. He offered me a glass of whatever he is drinking. He paid attention to the red head talking to Freya and Courtney. Maria wasn't invited and it's probably better because she would not be comfortable. I owe her an apology for what I had with Vivi while she was pregnant with our baby. "I think women are powerful beings. You know we, as the male species we like to think that we are the superior beings but they are the superior ones. They bring us to our knees and make us beg. They determine when we smile, like the way you are doing right now and when we want to burn down everything in their name. They decide whether we become fathers or not. They decide who we make our enemies just because someone gave them a bad look... That sort of thing. They are the queens and we are just loyal subjects."

Something about the way he looked at me set me off. I lost that smile Marianna has put on my face. "Is there something you want to say to me?"

"Whatever you have with Vivi, it's over."

"There was nothing between us but heat between the sheets. It's done."

"Good because I would hate to add you to my kill list. You don't want that Nathan."

"Are you threatening me?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"No. I'm stating a fact. If this wedding doesn't pull through because of you, I'll end you."

"If the wedding doesn't pull through it's your own fault." I poured the liquor in a flower pot and I put away the glass. I was just leaving when he gripped my arm. "Let me go Sinclair."

"They kept saying that's Nate's girl. Marianna is Nate's girl. Everytime a man showed a little interest he was reminded that she is your girl." He laughed harshly. "I'm happy that you were MIA so that some other guy can screw your girl since it seems you weren't doing it right."

He pointed at Wayne. I haven't been in the same space with Wayne Bellingerre. This is a first. "Why is he here?"

I think Sinclair wants to provoke me. I vowed to be better and then this happens?

"I am not one for petty jealousy and drama but you have to admit it would be fun to see what happens when you're neck to neck with the man who was banging your girl so hard-"

"Shut up Sinclair!" I warned him. "That is enough from you."

I'm trying to be good. I'm trying to be calm.

"What is going on?" Francis asked looking between us.

"I was just giving Nathaniel the gory details of Marianna and Wayne. I got Wayne to tell me. I hear she moans like an angel. She has a tight wet little-"

"Seriously? That is highly inappropriate!" Francis intervened taking his place by my side. "What the hell are you doing? That is not your business. Stop talking about her like she's a trophy!"

"I'm not going to stoop to your level." I told him. "Excuse me."

His bodyguards blocked me. "You will only leave when I say you can leave Nathaniel!"
