Taehyung's POV
I kicked Yoongi from beside Jimin and sat in between them, pushing him to the edge. He snorted and raised from his place, "I will go check on the food. I am getting hungry."
"All he cares about is to eat and sleep." I chuckled, making Jimin give out a laugh.
Looking at he-his direction, I remembered how mean I was towards him all day. I gave him a cold shoulder just because of my own desires.
"Forgive me for today." I lowered my eyes, fixing them on my sword around my waist adding, "I was angry and poured it on you."
I was dying to talk to you.
"It's fine. It was actually my fault to sleep on the bed."
Huh! He thinks this is the reason behind my anger. Better to keep it that way, then.
"So, how things going between you and your brother?" Jimin put his delicate fingers under my chin and raised my head for our eyes to meet.
"We. We are fine." She smiled and retracted her hand, waiting for me to resume talking. "We kept talking a lot. I found out that his wife died. She didn't run away as rumors said."
"Oh, mine." Jimin gasped.
"Yeah, that was my reaction."
"Then why didn't he return?"
I narrowed my eyes.
"It was hard, Taehyung. I left the palace with no intentions of returning." hyung bit his lower lip, continuing, "I also didn't know how to face you or father. I was feeling lost. I felt that I had no one to rely on. No, to be honest, I felt that I lost my right to even show you my face again."
"None sense," I whispered.
He blinked.
"I was waiting for you. Every day, I would-" I clenched my fists. "Until I understood that you'd never come no matter how much I cried or called your name. Just like mum."
Tears streamed from my eyes as he kept looking at me with tears in his. There was nothing to say.
I sighed and stared at the sky. "He said that he couldn't face me. You were right. He was the one waiting for me."
Turning my gaze at Jimin, I gave her my boxy smile. "I love you a lot."
If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have taken such a step. I am glad that I came.
A few minutes of silence passed, not the awkward one, though. I was enjoying the moment and the rush of memories of my past, surrounded by my family. The happy family that I thought I had.
I was naive and young to understand what my mother went through. That's why I would. I must take care of my own family.
I gritted my teeth.
"Prince Tae, can you hear me?" My body relaxed and turned to look at Jimin when her voice was audible to me.
"Kookie just said that food is ready." She said, standing up.
I nodded at her and followed her inside. I found later that Kookie kept calling me for a while, and I just ignored him. It took some time to convince him that I was just spaced out and didn't hear him.
He kept scratching his back and telling me it was fine to neglect him which made me believe that I failed to persuade him. He was always like that hard to deal with, but I liked him. He was the first one whom I could actually call mine. The only one who followed me by his own free will not because I was born as a prince, but because he wanted to.
