school had just ended so you watched to the gym. when you walked in you saw the team huddled up talking to each other. you saw kageyama's arm around yachi's waist. no one noticed that you came in so you silently went to sit on the benches. "SHE'S HERE!" you heard noya as he ran up to you giving up a hug. too close.

you gave the boys a small smile embarrassed about what happened last time you saw them. "how've you been?!" noya asked in a high tone. why's he so excited? "good..?" it sounded more like a question than a statement. "it's okay, don't be embarrassed." sugawara said calmly. he really is the mother of the team. you thought recalling hinata talk about sugawara being the mom of the team.

you had been sitting on the bench with yachi for an hour now. everytime kageyama and hinata would do their iconic quick attack she would yell and cheer for kageyama. you tried ignoring her and focusing on your homework but you could feel the jealousy growing in your stomach every time kageyama would give her a nod or the tiniest smile. yachi didn't really talk to you but you weren't complaining. soon, the team got a break and yachi went over to stand by her boyfriend.

she gave him a cold water bottle and fresh towel to wipe the sweat from his face as he put an arm around her waist again. that should be me instead. hearing hinata and noya calling you over, you went over standing in between the two across from kageyama and yachi. "you were so good out there tobio!" yachi said proudly. everyone's eyes immediately went to them when she said tobio. so they're that close. the pit of jealousy growing bigger.

all pairs of eyes widening in shock when kageyama said thanks and kissed her cheek. you held back tears and felt jealousy flew through your veins. you wanted to run out and cry but you didn't want to cause a scene so you waited for their break to be over. when they went back to the court, you and yachi went back to the bench.

you waited five minutes before packing your things and pretending you got a text saying you had to leave. "sorry, i have to go. tell the guys i said bye." you got up and left tears dropping halfway out the gym. the guys watched you leave. confused, they went back to their game.
