Time skip to Valentine's Day...

Ah, yes, Valentine's Day. The dumbest 'holiday' of the year. In fact, it's one of my least favorite days of the year. Why? Because I've never had someone to care for me like that. Not even a real father.

And as for why it's a dumb 'holiday'. When you ask someone, 'What's Valentine's Day?', well here's what a lot of people say...'It's the one day of the year where you show your significant other a lot of love, and why you love them.'

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice day, but it's only a day. If you really love someone, then you should be showing them everyday of the year, not just the one. That's all I'm saying.

I walked into the school. Which was decorated in red, pink, white, and purple. "Hey." Selena and Miley joined me at my locker, "You okay?" Miley asked.

"Yeah, I'm just not really a Valentine's Day person." I answered as I closed my locker.

"Same here. I never have somebody to spend it with." Selena crossed her arms.

"I mean why would you only dedicate one day of the year to showing someone you love them? Shouldn't you do that everyday?" Miley looked over at me.

"Exactly! I try telling people that all the time. But they never listen." I agreed.

We turned the corner, and as always, there's Joe and Taylor doing what they do every morning. I rolled my eyes and shook my head, "I still can't believe he doesn't believe you. She's a cheater." Miley looked away from the scene.

"Yeah, I saw her and that other boy kissing under the bleachers after school this one time. Why won't you show him the pictures again?" Selena asked.

"I tried. He wanted to be stupid, so he can figure it out on his own." I replied, "I really don't care."

"But I thought you guys were friends?" Selena looked at me with a confused expression.

"Oh, trust me, we are not friends. He made that very clear a couple weeks ago. And he did exactly what he said he would do. Have nothing to do with me once we finished our song." I sighed.

"Jerk." I heard Miley mutter under her breath. "Soooo, how's Nick doing?" Miley asked.

I smirked, "Why? Do you like him?" I nudged her.

"Maybe a little." She blushed.

I playfully rolled my eyes at her, "He's doing well. He's the only one I still keep in touch with now." My smile grew, "C'mon!" I grabbed Miley by her wrist.

"Where are we going?" Miley questioned.

"You'll thank me later." I just told her. Selena rushed behind us to keep up.

I made a few turns, and there he was, right at his locker. He looked up at me, "Oh, hey, Demi. How are you?" He asked.

"I'm great. Nick, this is my friend, Miley. Miley...well...you know who he is." I introduced them.

"Hi, Miley, it's nice to meet you." He smiled and outstretched his hand.

"Same here." She shook his hand.

"You guys have the same lunch as my brothers and I. Maybe we can all sit with each other...minus Joe of course." He added.

"Sure. You guys can do that. I'll be in the music room again. So yeah, see you later, Nick!" I waved and we rushed to our class.

For the first time, I didn't have any problems with the science teacher! It was about time!

"Are you sure you don't want to come to lunch?" Miley asked.
