Demi

Friday

Taylor is really getting on my nerves. She's been spreading rumors about me in school. Thankfully, none of them have to do with my past...well except for the one I heard today. But the rumors were still hurtful. One of them saying that I pay guys to sleep with me. Which I don't. In fact, I'm still a virgin. That I'm an illegal stripper at a night club. Which, I'm still not confident with my body, so I would never do that. And the one I'm hearing now.

"Demi, is it true that your dad left your mom because she's too ugly?" Taylor asked. We were outside for lunch. I had decided to come sit with Miley, Selena, Nick, and Kevin today. I really wished I hadn't.

"No, and you know that it's not." I replied.

"Oh, that's right! It was because he was too ashamed of his fat, ugly, daughter." She tried again.

That one really hurt. I kept the tears inside as the memories of that one night came back.

"You're a disgrace to this family!" My dad pushed me hard against the wall. I was only about four years old.

My mom rushed into the room. She grabbed me and brought me somewhere away from him. She closed the door. I suddenly heard arguing. They were arguing over me. My mom was defending me, while my dad called me pathetic. That nobody would love me if I didn't lose weight. I heard glass break. And I was scared out of my mind. That was the night my mom, Dallas, and I left my dad for good. That was the night my insecurity of being fat really started.

I looked down at my food. I wasn't hungry anymore. I just threw it out, "Oh, did you think that I meant you? I met your older sister. What's her name? Oh, Dallas, yeah, her."

I looked up at the blonde witch. It's one thing to say those things to me, but to say them about my family, that's where I draw the line. I glared at her. I wanted to hurt her. I started walking towards her, but somebody quickly held me back. It was Nick.

I got out of his grasp. I glared at Taylor one more time before turning around to go to the music room. When I did turn around, I saw Joe. He seemed sad and angry at the same time. I just pushed past him and continued to inside.

Joe

Demi was right about Taylor. She was right about everything. I saw Taylor and this guy making out under a tree after school yesterday. Nick showed me the pictures Demi had taken. I called Taylor and told her that we were over. She wasn't too happy.

"Wow, Taylor, right when I didn't think you could sink any lower." I shook my head at her. People looked at me confused. I looked back around at everyone, "Oh, you didn't know? Taylor and I broke up because she cheated on me."

Everybody started whispering, "She also lied to me about what Demi said to her. In fact, she's lied about a lot of things. First off, Demi doesn't pay guys to sleep with her. Second, she's not an illegal stripper. Both of those things are ridiculous to even say about her. And lastly, Demi's birth father did abandon her and her family. And when she could use her past as an excuse to be mean to others, she doesn't. She doesn't lift herself up by making others awful and spreading rumors. Demi may be rebellious and wear a lot of black, but she is one of the nicest, most caring person I have ever met. She'll call you out, but she'll never sink to your level, Taylor." I turned my attention back to the blonde who was scolding me with a stare, "You know, for someone who's appearance comes off as an angle, you really are a b*tch." Everybody stayed silent. I turned around and made my way to the music room, knowing that's where Demi would be.

I opened the door to the room quietly and closed it while the piano was playing. The only light came from the open windows. Demi didn't notice me and started singing. I could tell that she was on the verge of crying.
