Plot: Melody falls in love with Nekomas captain.
~
"What do you mean just confess to him?!" I sigh and slump on my desk as my best friend comforts me."I mean, let's be real here does he even know you exist?" Okay fine she has a point.
"Ughhh." I stare at the gym where the volleyball team of our school were training in. "I'll just let life do its thing!"
A week passed after that and somehow managed to be in a group with Kuroo, the person I admire. By sheer luck and we managed to hit it off as friends. We chat about our hobbies, life goals, and some random controversial topics. It was like we were friends ever since middle school.
"You gonna watch our game?" Kuroo gives his signature grin.
"Ehhh maybeee." I tease him a bit.
"C'mon!" He slings his arm around my shoulder making me feel embarrassed all of a sudden. "The team could use your support."
"Fineeeeee. As long as you treat me lunch I'll go." I suppress my overwhelming feelings.
"Yosh!" He cheers and hops into the gym. "Let's walk home together with Kenma?"
"Yeah as per usual. I'll do my homework over at the side."
We enter the gym with a couple of his team mates greeting us as I find a secluded area to study for my exams. They begun training for their match. I took multiple breaks to watch them practice as my brain couldn't take in anymore information.
"How do they jump that high?" I wonder to myself as Kuroo jumps with his 2 other teammates to completely block a spike.
"Yoshaaaa!" They cheer and highfive one another.
Kuroo looks my way with a sweaty smile and grins. As if saying, 'did you see what I just did, aren't I cool?'
I suppress my urge to react like a fan girl and just roll my eyes as if I wasn't impressed. Immediately, I focus back on my notes to not let my heart flutter any longer.
"Heyyy." I felt someone poke my head. I look up to see Kuroo and behind him was Kenma.
"Oh you guys done already?" I look at my phone to see that such a long time has passed. "Oh damn sorry I'll clean up right away then we can go."
"No rush." Kenma and Kuroo sit down beside me and chatted.
"Alright let's go." I shoulder my bag but Kuroo suddenly takes it from me.
"I'll hold it for yah." He grins and runs off.
"HEY MY BAG!" I chase after him as Kenma sighs at our usual antics.
~Time Skip~
I just watched Nekoma's game and they won! To be completely honest, I couldn't take my eyes off Kuroo. He was just so eye catching and just wow.
My feelings started out as admirations but as I spent my time with him my feelings began to grow. It could be my own delusion but I think he likes me too. So I decided before the game started, that if they won I would confess, and if they lost I won't.
My best friend sent me a text wishing me luck which I highly appreciated.
"Hey Melody!" Kuroo runs up to meet me and grins. "You saw our win?"
"Of course!" I smile at him. "You all did well! You all deserve this win!"
"Of course!" He grins and holds up a peace sign. "Coach is treating us to dinner, he told me to invite you! You coming?"
"Are you sure?!"
He nods and so I accept their kind invitation. We meet up outside the arena and head towards the restaurant which was within walking distance. Kuroo and I lagged behind the crowd as he began to talk about their match and how they countered their opponents. I didn't really understand much but seeing him so talking so passionately made my heart flutter.
"Hey...Kuroo..." I gather my nerves to finally tell him.
"Hm?" He stops entering the restaurant and looks at me. "What up?"
"I got something to tell you. If that's alright." I couldn't help but fiddle with my bag.
"Sure." He seem to notice my nervousness. "We'll be right in!" He tells the people inside.
I lead him to a secluded corner just a few steps behind the restaurant.
"Why are you leading me here? You gonna kill me?" He jokes.
"I wish..." I sigh. "But no, I've been meaning to tell you this for...well a long time now."
"What is it?" Now he looks nervous.
"I...I like you...since last year..." I almost feel a weight lift off my chest.
"Melody...like...'like' like?" He ruffles his hair in confusion.
"Yeah...I know it's sudden but I decided not to hide my feelings anymore." I smile at him. "I really reallyyy like you."
"Melody...I..." Kuroo looks around baffled. "I'm sorry..."
My heart feels like it's starting to crack.
"I'm just not looking for someone right now." He find the words to say to me as I hold in my tears. "I don't really see you in that way...and I'm focusing on volleyball right now so..."
"No it's okay!" I refuse to blink cause if I do my tears will begin to fall. "I don't expect you to like me back anyway!" My voice begins to crack.
"Melody...I'm sorry I-" H reaches his hands to touch me but I step back immediately.
"Don't! Please..." Tears began to fall.
Was I imagining it all? Did I really think that he'll like me back? How could I be so stupid?! What did I think was going to happen?! I'm such an idiot!
"I...I can't right now...a-and it's not your fault I know...but I need space right now." I struggle to breathe as I now was full on crying. "I...I have to go."
I don't wait for his reply as I begin rushing back home. I ran and ran not stopping for anything and just ran. I arrive home and crash on my bed as a sobbing mess.
I can't face him anymore not after all that. I don't even think I could even be friends with him anymore. If I see his face the pain will just come rushing back.
Why did I confess to him?! Now our friendship is ruined!
"Kuroo...." I cry his name as I exhaust all my tears.
I begin to fall asleep as exhaustion overtook my body.

If this hurt ya'll I'm sorry it hurt me too.
