Bienvenue au Cirque

We stood in front a bar for sale in the French Quarter that wasn't on Bourbon St so you could say it was off the beaten trail.  I'd say it's the perfect location.  The French Quarter is where the weird is expected and is accepted.  But it's also better to not be right on the street of bumbling drunk tourists.  We would be a pleasantly discovered treasure off that beaten trail.  I could see the magic in the place calling to me.

"This is it Sam." I said decisively.

"Are you sure?  Wouldn't it be better to be closer to Bourbon if we cant be right on Bourbon?  More money." Sam said.

"And more idiots.  They're not our clientele darlin'.  This is what we want.  A charming place off the beaten trail.  That's the way of the Fae.  We could call it Bienvenue au Cirque.  Welcome to the Circus.  It gives an air of mystery to the humans while letting supes know all creatures are welcome.  Mr. Cataliades do you agree with the name welcoming all creatures?" I asked my lawyer.

I didn't know we had an attorney until I moved here but he is or was a good friend of my grandfather Fintan.  My true Fae grandfather that is.  I mention is or was because I've never met Fintan so I don't know if he's still alive.  Mr. Cataliades hasn't seen him in a long time.  Due to that friendship Desmond Cataliades has been taking care of Fintan's bloodline.  He is the one that gifted telepathy to Sookie when he discovered she had the light in her.  I thought it was a natural gift she was born with but I was wrong.  I've learned so much more about the Fae from him or rather the different kinds of Fae.  He is half like myself and he's a demon Fae with a full blooded demon brother.  The demon fae are the only ones with telepathy.

"Agreed.  I think if your tag line when answering your phone is, thank you for calling Bienvenue au Cirque the home of beautiful creatures how may I assist you?  I think that will be the sinker at confirming it for all supes." Mr. Cataliades said.

"I like it!  I'll come here.  What about you Gladiola?" Diantha asked.

"Yes.  I like a bar that welcomes all of us." Gladiola said.

"I really like that tag line!  That's what we'll use.  Right Sam?  Can't you just hear Pam saying that in her dry tone?" I asked merrily.

"Yes actually.  I can hear her saying that in her exact tone." Sam said.

I could tell out of the vampires around us that Pam was his favorite.  They had become fast friends.

"Are you ready to go inside and check it out?" Mr. Cataliades asked.

"I want it." I said.

Sam's head whipped around to look at his mate.

"No, we'll look at it first." Sam said.

"We can look.  But it won't change my mind.  This is the place.  The magic calls to me.  This is it.  It's meant to be." I said stubbornly.

"You should always trust a Fae when they make this claim especially one who knows things such as her gift allows." Mr. Cataliades said as he let us in.

As soon as I stepped in I felt welcomed.  It felt as if I'd stepped into the arms of a warm hug from a family member.

"Mr. Cataliades this is owned by my Fae family isn't it?" I asked.

"Yes.  I knew you'd recognize it.  It's yours already.  Fintan owned it because he felt the magic pulsing in here as well.  It was a Fae playground back in the day but now it's yours." Mr. Cataliades said.

We walked the property and knew it was going to need a lot of work as it hadn't been kept up with but I could also easily see what it would be.  Mr. Cataliades handed me the keys and left with his nieces who wanted to stay and play.  I blinked away and returned with cleaning supplies and gloves.
