The next evening I dialed the number for Fangtasia as I had an idea on a job. I had no way to go there myself as Sookie was working, I haven't officially met Jason, and I have no license or vehicle. Not to mention no money to order an Uber.
"Fangtasia where the fangs are real how may I help you?" Pam asked.
"Pam? It's Magnolia. I was hoping to speak with Eric please." I said.
"Eric isn't here at the moment Siren. What is your number and I'll have him call you?" Pam asked.
I gave Pam the house number and let her go. I went to Sookie's room and looked through her nail polish. I found a shimmery light pink that would look great against my tan. I grabbed it and bounced back downstairs to catch up on the mortal world. I grabbed the movie Twister and put it into the DVD player and sat down to watch it while painting my nails. I was maybe an hour into the movie when the phone rang. I paused the movie and grabbed the phone.
"Hello?" I greeted.
"This is Eric. How may I help you Magnolia?" Eric asked.
"Hi Eric! So you'll be in need of a bartender soon and I'm in need of a job so I'm thinking we can help each other out. Deal?" I asked.
"How do you need I'll need a bartender soon?" Eric asked.
"I just do. So what do you think?" I asked.
I heard a knock at my front door at that moment.
"I think you should answer the front door. I'll wait." Eric said.
"Oh, that's nice of you. I'll be right back." I said.
I didn't even wonder how he knew just figured his vampire hearing heard the knock as I put the phone down. I walked to my front door and looked through the peephole where I spotted the Viking himself. I rolled my eyes as I opened the door.
"How about we discuss the job and other things over dinner?" Eric asked with a grin.
"Hm, I am hungry. I don't know how to cook so that sounds like a marvelous idea. Won't you come in Viking Eric Northman while I ready myself?" I asked formally.
"I'd love to come in." Eric said as his grin widened at the invite.
I stepped to the side as he entered and shut the door behind him.
"I'll be right back handsome." I said before taking off up the staircase.
I went into Sookie's bedroom again and looked into her closet. I looked through it before settling on one of her sundresses as it was good for a date. I ran with it to my room where I put it on and looked at my shoes before settling on some heels that will go with it. I walked with the grace of the Fae back down the stairs where Eric was waiting. He started at my feet before his eyes traveled up my legs, up my body before finally meeting my eyes. A Cheshire grin lit up his face as he appreciated my appearance.
"You look beautiful as always." Eric complimented.
"I appreciate the compliment good Sir." I said cheekily as I curtsied.
He put his hand on the small of my back as he walked me out the front door and took the key from me to lock up. He then put his hand back on my back before bringing me to his vehicle.
"I have other means of getting around but I figured I wouldn't introduce you to it just yet." Eric said.
"This car is perfectly fine." I said.
I appreciated the sleek lines of the Mercedes not even realizing it was an expensive car since I didn't grow up among mortals.
"Where to?" Eric asked.
