I was so excited to officially start my mortal life. I was excitedly walking back and forth on the front porch waiting for Eric when his Mercedes pulled up. I immediately began bouncing down the steps of my porch with my bag of the only things I own. My shoes and personal documents. That was all I had to my name. Eric was already out and taking the bag from me as he opened the front passenger door for me. I slid in while he put my bag into the trunk.

"So I have an appointment set at Sunshine Estates as they're perfect. I think you'll find your search ends with them. Their apartments are in high demand as they offer affordable rental rates while offering everything you could want from a home. Also, pets are allowed. I don't know if you'd want one so I wanted you to have that option. Also, they're furnished." Eric said.

"I appreciate you looking into this for me and finding something affordable." I said excited.

"Of course. You're mine now. I'd pay for everything if you'd let me but I sense you won't so I'm doing what I can for you." Eric said with a shrug.

"I'm only yours as an added protection." I said with a raised brow.

"For now." Eric said with a smirk.

"For now." I agreed with a wink.

"After finding a home the next thing on the list is a cell phone for you as you should have one in case you need to call for help. Or for me to reach you if I'm away doing vampire business." Eric said.

"That's sensible." I said with a nod.

After a half hour Eric pulled up to the leasing office of the gated community of Sunshine Estates.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Northman who I spoke to before. And you are?" the leasing agent who already signed the lease with Eric the night before asked.

"My name is Magnolia Stackhouse. I'm the one that is considering renting from you." I said with a smile as I stuck my hand out.

"Right. Well, we only have one unit left. It just became available was finished it's professional cleaning yesterday so it's ready for move in immediate if needed. Rent is $800 a month with utilities included. That includes internet that's already connected however if you want cable tv that would be on you." The leasing agent said as he shook my hand.

I had no idea what good rent is but I trusted Eric did so I just nodded and followed the agent to the apartment with Eric. We walked around the entire place and I was in love.

"With a kitchen like this I will have to learn how to cook! That's for sure. And this cute little patio makes me feel like I'm back in the Fae...um back in a fairytale!" I said excitedly as I caught myself from blurting where I lived and giving myself away.

"So does that mean you'd like to sign the lease and take the apartment?" The leasing agent asked with a chuckle.

"Call me impulsive but yes! I trust Eric did his research and if this was the very first place he showed me then it must be the best in my price range." I said.

The agent presented her with a fake lease that was made just for her as he'd already signed a real lease with the vampire. Then Eric pretended to take care of the payment which had already been taken care of the day before. The agent gave her the keys and gave her the instructions to the alarm pad. They parked in her personal spot then Eric got her her things from his trunk as they walked to the apartment.

"What's this second bag?" I asked pointing to it as I unlocked my apartment.

"This bag is filled with your uniforms for working at Fangtasia." Eric answered as he brought both into my bedroom.
