Encountering An "Angel" (Prologue)

You were walking around Chinatown looking for your missing friend Lei. He was gone for a few weeks already. He never contacted you and neither was his family. You were very worried because you knew it had something to do with his gang. You decided to go there and ask people if they had seen him, but they either ignored you or said they didn't know. You saw a restaurant a few meters away. It was getting late and it also started raining. You wanted to go home but you were hungry. 

So you decided to go and eat there and continue looking for your friend Lei tomorrow. The restaurant was called Chang Dai. When you went inside you saw a pretty woman cleaning the tables. "Excuse me miss, are you still open? "She smiled at you and said. "Sorry, we're already closed. You can come back here tomorrow though-" "Nadia! It's fineeeeee. You can go home now. I'll take care of this cutie right here!" A tall man interrupted. "But Shorter-" "It's okay. You must be tired. You should rest already." "Ok fine... But make sure you won't give her the wrong order. "Don't worry! I promise. Sooo, you can go now!"

 She sighed "Haiyah..." then waved goodbye to the tall man with a purple mohawk. You just stared at him for a few seconds and said. "Umm, Hi? " He smiled and said. "Hello! What would you like to order? I recommend our wonton soup. "  You smiled and nodded, " Ah yes, I'd like to order that. " "Alright, is that it?" "Yes, thank you." He went inside the kitchen and started preparing the food. You were a little flustered, he looked like someone out of a manga series. He had great social skills and a good cook. He also had a pretty face. 

You were spacing out and didn't notice that it was already on your table and he sat in front of you. "Oh yeah. Your soup is ready. You were spacing out so I didn't say anything." "Eh?! For how long? Aa I'm sorry..." "Hehe that's alright. But you seem a little down today. Is there something wrong?" You smiled and said "No no. There's nothing wrong, I'm just a little tired that's all..." " Oh, I see. You should eat already, it might get cold." He knew something was wrong and it had something to do with Lei.

 He wanted to be friendly so he introduced himself. "Oh, by the way. My name is Shorter, Shorter Wong. Nice to meet you~" "Hmm, what an interesting name. I'm Y/N, L/N. Nice to meet you too." You smiled and started eating. Then he suddenly says "Is it good?" "Yes. It's really good. It's my first time trying this..."  "Oh, that's nice. " After a moment of awkward silence, you asked him if he had seen your friend. " Um, this is kinda random. But have you seen any tall brown-haired boy near this area? He's my friend. He hasn't contacted me and his family for weeks now... I'm really worried about him." He nodded. "You're looking for Lei, right? "

You were surprised and a little confused so you replied. "Yes. How did you know?" "Oh, he was a close friend of mine. We just met but he was a nice guy." You smiled and said. " That's good to know. But do you know where he is?" He turned a little pale. "Sorry to tell you this, but he's gone.." Your heart dropped, tears started welling up in your eyes and your voice started cracking. "W-what? " You looked at him in pure disbelief. 'Stop joking around..." "It's not a joke. He used to be the leader of this certain gang. But a member backstabbed him and-" " No. I don't even know you. I shouldn't believe such stupidity." After you said that, tears started rolling down your cheeks. "H-hey. I'm sorry. I should have been more sensitive..."

 " It doesn't matter. sniffle H-he's gone.. He was my only friend that stayed with me without asking for anything in return. I swear, I will avenge him and find t-that person who killed him.." After that, he gently puts his hand on your shoulder and said. " "Y/N, I'm sorry but if you do that you'll- " You were angry at yourself for being so oblivious. You took your anger and hatred of yourself on Shorter. You yelled at him and slapped his hand away." DON'T TOUCH ME YOU FUCKING BASTARD! You don't know how much pain, regret, and guilt I'm feeling." You sniffled and tried to wipe your tears from your E/C eyes. He stared at you the same way as an angel would. " I-I'm sorry. I should just leave..."
