Y/N's POV:

After a few minutes, we finally reached Chang Dai. The restaurant looked pretty old. But not in a bad way, obviously. It's more classical or vintage looking. But it was oddly familiar. You didn't feel this way before. What could this mean? Who knows.

The door creaked open, as both of us went inside. I saw a beautiful lady with short hair, which I assume Shorter's older sister Nadia.

She was reading a... manga? I assume that she's on a break. "No Longer Human" It says on the cover. The art is also familiar. I've read this before! It was pretty good, even though the plot was a bit disturbing for a child to read. But oh well.

"Yo, Nadia." Shorter called. "Yes, what do you want?" She put down her manga and sighed, slightly irritated at her little brother bothering her on her break. "My friend Y/N wants to get a job here because she's gonna be joining my gang and needs to pay for the gun." He said bluntly. You were a bit shocked, but you just shrugged it off and nodded.

"Hmm, sure. It's pretty nice to finally have someone help me out in cleaning. Not like this rooster-looking idiot." She glared at Shorter. "Ehhhh? I do not look like a rooster! You're just jealous!! I look cool with my hairstyle." Shorter said childishly while sticking out his tongue.

I couldn't help my self but giggle  little. They reminded you of your brother. While Lei was more reserved and soft-spoken but your brother was more angsty/moody but caring.

Shorter's POV:

I cleared my throat. "I-I apologize. Anyways, when can Y/N start working here?" "Whenever they're ready." 

Y/N's face beamed. "R-really? Thank you so much! We have a lot of tasks next week, and I still have to study for it. I'll do my best to help out." This was one of the first time Y/N finally showed for emotions. It's somewhat heart-warming. I don't want this to stop. But why do I feel so vulnerable when, they're around...

"Anyways. Y/N, can I ask you something?" Nadia suddenly says with a small smile. Y/N nods. "Yes, what is it?" 

"Why do you want to join Shorter's gang? Sorry to pry or anything but, you do know that it will risk you and your family's life, right? You don't need to answer if it makes you uncomfortable..." She said in a concerned voice. Y/N said sternly. "I want to avenge my friend. He was killed by the same person Shorter and his friends are trying to defeat. It might sound reckless, but I'm willing to do anything for Lei. He was like a brother to me. No matter what, I won't make his death go in vain. It doesn't matter what I have to do. I'll kill anyone who gets in my way." After that Y/N had an unreadable expression. It gave me and Nadia goosebumps. 

I didn't expect Y/N to be that passionate about them avenging Lei. Shit, It's better if I don't underestimate them.

"Y/N really is something huh?" I thought to myself. "I'll kill anyone who gets in my way." Y/N sounds just like Ash.

Nadia's POV:

"Very well. Thank you for answering my question. Anyways, would you like to eat something? We still have leftover 包子 (Baozi). It's still warm too." 

"Really? Thank you so much. I didn't eat much today, since I was in a hurry..." I smiled at them and pat their head. "No problem. I'll go get it real quick."

As I walked away, I can't help but think that Y/N is very similar to Ash. Anyways, Shorter's been acting different around them. It's kind of cute. 

Y/N's POV:

Me and Shorter are just sitting there, waiting for Nadia to come back. It was very awkward. Should I apologize or not? Damn it. "Um Shorter?" He turned his head and looked at me. "Yes?"
