Y/N's POV:

"I'm very disappointed in you..." Dad said sighing.

" He almost killed my comrade! What do you expect me to do? Just stare and do nothing?! Unlike you, I'm not a coward nor a traitor!" I yelled in anger and pent-up frustration.

He didn't answer and simply sat down on the chair to rest from our fight.

"Y/N, calm down. Your dad has been under a lot of stress so it's better if-"

I clenched my fists trying to stop myself from punching Cris. But then I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked back and saw the long-haired boy smiling softly.

"Please calm down. You must have been going through a lot when your father was away. Don't you think it's better to cool things off between you two?" The pretty boy suggested.

I was mesmerized by him. He also tried to comfort me! Stop it Y/N. You already have Shorter...

"Thank you...-"

"Yut Lung. Lee Yut Lung." He interrupted.

"I see. Thank you, Yut Lung but I think I'll have to go now. I have some business to attend to and maybe cool things down between us..." I said to him, a bit anxious.

"Great, do you perhaps want me to accompany you to your destination? I can call my driver if you'd like." He said a bit coldly.

His mood changed quickly. Was he disappointed?

"No thank you. I'll just walk."

"But now that I think of it, I don't know where I am. I don't think I've ever been in this part of the city before..." I said a bit sadly as I stared out of the window, also admiring the immaculate view of the sunset.

"I figured that. It's better if someone accompanies you." Yut Lung said directing his eyes to someone behind me. Cris...

"Fine fine. I'll go with them, just make sure they're not gonna murder me!" The other twin said jokingly.

"Y/N, do you vow to not hurt Xiang Lung in any circumstances? The only exception is if he hurts you first." Yut Lung said eyeing me and crossing his arms.

I can see the other twin fuming and whisper "Don't call me that in front of people..."

I instantly nodded. I don't know why, but this boy isn't simply just a 'pretty boy' after all. It's like he holds some kind of power to make everyone around him follow his orders without any hesitation. He's one odd and interesting fellow. Maybe I should keep an eye on him.

"Yes. I vow to not hurt him in any way. May I leave now?" I said politely to not waste time any further.

He nods and walks back to his seat with a serious look on his pale face.

I gave dad one last glare and left with Cris.

We walked silently and made our way outside. I looked behind me and I just noticed how beautiful the architecture was. It's like a museum!

"Like our home? I mean not gonna lie, it does look nice from the outside. But it also hides the fact that there's some shady business going on in there. I hate coming here..."

"Must be rough huh?" I said a little sympathetically.

"Yeah yeah. Enough with this depressing topic. Where were you gonna go?" He said quickly brushing off the topic. He clearly didn't want to talk more about it, so it's best to leave it be.

"Hmm...RIGHT. I HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" I almost yelled.

"Geez, what's wrong with ya? I'm not deaf you know? Anyway, why the hospital?" He questioned while eyeing me.

"I have to check up on someone..."

"Who?"

"You don't have to know." I frowned. Walking before him.

"Alright, I guess. I won't pry any further." He said nonchalantly.

As time went on we were talking about different ranges of topics. From classical music, art, architecture, politics, and even history. Cris seemed like a dummy at first glance. But the way he speaks and his vocabulary, he's clearly educated in these kinds of topics. Very cool guy. I kinda feel bad for shooting him...

"Yeah. Also, sorry for shooting you..." I said as I avoided eye contact.

"Nah, it's alright. I understand why you had to do that. If I was in your place, I'd do the same." He said smiling a bit.

I smiled back at him and continued walking. We finally reached the hospital.

"It was fun chatting with ya Y/N. Maybe I should give you my contacts?" He said cheerfully.

"Sure. Go ahead." I reached for my pocket and took my phone out. Good thing it was still there...

He typed in his contact info and we both parted ways.

I went to the floor my room was located. I immediately opened my door but he was gone. I was too late. Where did he go?

I called his number but he wouldn't pick up. Maybe in Chang Dai? I called their business number.

"Hello. Welcome to Chang Dai, what can I get for you?" A familiar voice said.

"Nadia, It's me Y/N. Have you seen Shorter?" I said worriedly.

She let a deep sigh escape through her. "Y/N, Shorter is currently... not doing so good. He's sleeping at the moment. But he told me what happened and that he looked for you the whole day all alone but he couldn't find you. I told him to rest and that you'll come back eventually. Both of us were really worried about you." Nadia in a sad tone.

"I'm so sorry Nadia. I could've come back sooner. Can I come over?" I said, feeling guilty for making Shorter look for me alone.

"Mhm, go ahead. Shorter will surely be happy to find out that you're safe. Anyways, goodbye. Take care always okay?" After both of us hung up.

I quickly got out of the room and headed to Chinatown as quickly as possible. After a while of speed walking, I finally reached Chang Dai! Although it was already a little dark. I hesitantly opened the door. I saw Shorter sleeping peacefully. He was laying his head on the table and his back was slumped over.

"Poor guy..." I said to myself while heading over to him. I softly tapped his shoulder and said. "Wake up Shorter. I'm back. I heard you were looking for me all da-"

"Y/N! WHAT THE... WHY ARE YOU HERE!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONE!" He instantly stood up and gave me a big hug.

His hug was so comforting.
