As you were walking to school, you couldn't help but feel guilty for acting so smugly to Shorter. But you had to. You didn't want him to be too attached to you. The way he looks at you just makes your heart flutter.
But it was wrong. Dad said that if your emotions get ahead of you, it'll become your Achilles' Heel. It scared you, a lot. You're dad did teach you to hold a gun but it wasn't any serious. It was just the basics and nothing more.
After a few minutes you reached your university, and started going to your classroom. It was pretty cold since it's raining outside. You sat on your chair and waited for your teacher to start lecturing. But you felt a light tap on your shoulder.
It was Adeline. She was one of the popular girls in class that sat behind you, but she was very kind and soft-spoken but very fun to be around. She teases her classmates a lot. But she always did her best to make her classmates feel comfortable around her, and maybe ask her for some advices. She was cool. You weren't close, nor distant from each other. You opened up to her about your childhood and stuff, so she knows you more than anyone else. But not as much as Lei.
A/N: (you're also popular since you always have the highest scores in tests even without studying. )
"Hm? What do you need?" You asked her while looking at your textbook. She smiled, "I forgot my pen, can I borrow some of yours?" You nodded and handed her a pen. She said "Thanks. I also saw you with a boy that night. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." She said teasingly.
You blushed. "He's just a friend okay, don't get the wrong idea..." You raised a brow. "Really? Just kidding, if you don't wanna tell the truth, fine. I won't pry any further." You sighed in relief and continued to daydream about school and random things.
But then, your teacher went inside the classroom. And as always all of your classmates stood up and greeted him. He started lecturing. Time flew by pretty quickly. After lunch break, you and Adeline ate together and chatted for a bit and then went back to class. After that you quickly went outside your classroom. You were a bit thirsty so you went to he vending machine and got some iced tea (or any drink you like).
After that, you quickly head home to change your clothes and go to Chinatown.
You got your keys and unlocked your apartment. You looked over the kitchen and it was very clean. It looks like he cleaned it up pretty well. You put our bag on the couch and you started heading in to your room. You were very tired but you still had to go to Chinatown. "How irritating" you thought. But if you wanted to avenge Lei, you have to do this. You got your phone and went to Spotify, and listen to Adeline's playlist. It was surprisingly good.
You opened your closet to look for an outfit that's comfortable to wear, that also looks stylish.

After changing your clothes you put on a bit of make up but not too much. You sighed, Shorter didn't give you his number so you don't know if he's waiting for you for a long time now...
You quickly brushed your hair and styled it the same way you always do. Then, you started heading out of your apartment. You were a bit nervous, since he told you that you were more distant towards him. You didn't know if it was a good or bad thing, since you didn't want him to get close to you.
Anyways, after walking for a good 15 minutes. You finally reached Chinatown, but you still had to look for Chang Dai. After looking around for a while, you felt someone tap your shoulder. You were a bit startled but it was actually Shorter! He looked so cool in his glasses. N-no, stop daydreaming Y/N!
Y/N's POV:
He was still wearing the same glasses. He looks so cool up close cdkhcbdjnlcjdnv.
"Y/N. Y/N!" He yelled. "Yeah?" I said. "I was asking you if it was fine if we meet the gun dealer today..." He quietly said, being cautious of the things he says in public. "O-oh, sure. Let's go then." You stuttered a bit. It was so humiliating, he probably noticed you staring at his face. "No Not yet, I called him a while ago and he said that he was free this 8:00. It's still 5:00, so let's go to Chang Dai. I'm gonna tell Nadia that you wanted to work there!"
"That's good. We still have a few hours before we meet the guy. Anyways, who's Nadia again? Is she your girlfriend or something?" His eyes widened and he said defensively. "Wha- No! She's my sister! Don't we look alike?!" You blushed because you misunderstood them. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't know. God, what's wrong with me..."
"No it's fine. People always say that to me ehe. You're not the only one~. Anyways, let's get going." He said while scratching his neck and his face tinted with pink. I nodded in exchange.
Shorter's POV:
We started walking, and I swear. People are legit staring at us like we're ghosts. I often get stares from grandmas because of my hair, but it's different from this. Most grannies often playfully tease me about it but now, it's more because of Y/N. Well, I can't really blame them. A guy like me, walking around a cute and sweet looking person like Y/N- No, wait. I can hear them saying something.
Grannie Xiao: 我不敢相信肖尔现在是个年轻人。他和他姐姐当时只是可爱的小孩。时间确实会飞。(I can't believe Shorter is a young man now. He and his older sister were just cute little kids back then. Time surely does fly.)
Grannie Wei: 我同意。它让我想哭。他终于找到了真爱。(I agree. It makes me want to cry. He has finally found his true love.)
Wait what?! Y/N isn't my partner.....yet. Anyways, I need to clear this misunderstanding.
Shorter: 对不起，奶奶们。和我在一起的人不是我的"真爱"。 他们只是我的朋友。(Excuse me grandmas. This person I'm with isn't my "true love". They are just my friend.)
Grannie Xiao: 真的吗？(Really?)
Grannie Wei: 真不幸。我们以为那个人终于是你了。你们俩都会很好。不管怎样，你现在可以继续做你正在做的事。我们为误解感到抱歉。再见。(That's unfortunate. We thought that person is finally the one for you. Both of you would be a great couple. Anyways, you can carry on now on what you're doing. We are sorry for misunderstanding. Goodbye.)
I nod while walking away hiding my little blush. I hope they don't notice...
Y/N's POV:
"What did the grannies tell you?" I said while looking back for a bit, too see them giggling and giving me a thumbs up.
"It's nothing. Don't worry." I looked at his face and I see him blushing a little. He looks so ADORABLE. I just wanna give him a big hug- No Y/N. Don't fall in love with Shorter. Well, It looks like Y/N has already fallen in love with him. Can't do anything about it.
