19- I dare you

I didn't even notice how the rain stopped or how the bitter wind slowed to a breeze, or how the raw cold turned into warmth in Draco's arms. Only when we pull away breathlessly do I notice these changes. There's changes in Draco as well. His cheeks are flushed, his eyes sparkle and he genuinely looks happy. And no doubt there's changes with me - physically and emotionally.

Draco leans against the viaduct looking at me suspiciously with a smile plastered on.
"...What?" I ask.

"You're quite beautiful in the rain.." he says simply.

Pretending to ignore the blood rushing to my cheeks I chuckle. "What, with every part of me wet and shivering?"

"You're beautiful no matter what." My heart skips a beat and I bite my lip.

"Stop flattering me."

He smirks. "I shall flatter you until you cannot bare to be with me anymore."

"We finally just got together. You want to get rid of me already?" I force a laugh, feeling uncertain of his intentions.

"No!" He reassured me and takes my hand. "It's just, when you didn't come, I made my peace. I was upset but at the same time, relieved. It's better you stay away from people like me and my circle."

"Too late now."

"No I'm serious." His smile is gone and his eyes look concerned. "Dating a Slytherin..."

"Want to know something I haven't told anyone?"
He nods and gestures his hand forward as if to say 'Go on'.
"The sorting hat... was keen on placing me in Slytherin." Draco smiles weakly. "Maybe it was for this very purpose. To be with you and people like you."

"Huh." He leans in close as if inspecting me. "That hat malfunctioned, my Lily would never be in Slytherin. You're not tough enough." He laughs.

Struggling to control myself, I lift me hand and swing it to his chest, trying to prove him wrong.

My movement however are too slow and he catches my hand with ease and entraps it, holding it against his chest, a victorious smile spread across his face. "You're further proving my point."

"Don't pet your ego Malfoy, I'm tough and fearless." I say as confidently as I can, but I probably had the opposite effect, his heart beat alone makes me tremble. He simply scoffs, exhaling his breath into my ear. He whispers "You're scared now..."

I hate how he thinks he's right, even though he probably is. "No! ...Make me scared. I dare you." I demand. The devil in him shown through his gleaming eyes and scheming smirk.

"Do you trust me?" He says simply.

"No."

"Good." Taking my hand away from his chest, he holds it up in the air and takes a step towards the railing of the viaduct. "Climb." He commands.

My stomach churns. "On... the railing..?" I ask. He scoffs and rolls his eyes as if to say 'obviously'.

"I can't do this myself..."

"Fair enough." Without warning he clambers onto the railing effortlessly and extends his hand down to me looking completely unfazed of the heights below him.

My heart drops at the sight of him looming above the vast chasm. "GET DOWN!" I shriek.

"Only if you get up first." He impatiently waves his flailing arms around. Ignoring my loud conscious telling me not to, I take his hand, intertwining our fingers and place my foot onto the stone railing.
