4- Snape's idea

The rest of the night was beyond magical and delicious. The food appears onto our plates out of no where bringing a heavenly aroma with it. My senses could hardly wait, I wanted to dig in. The tables were covered completely with different assortments of food. I had never seen or even imagined so much. Anything you could think of, was laid out in front of you. The food looked as beautiful as they do in those fake television commercials. It's as if the best chefs made them.

The food I ate at home, was nothing of this sort. I mainly had simple food, like pasta, porridge, boiled vegetables and rice. My mother was never bothered to cook such extravagant food, I bet most people wouldn't be. Not even at Christmas.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, Minerva McGonagall was done with her announcements, the 1st years had been sorted in their houses. Dumbledore introduced us to something called the Triwizarding Tournament and these two new schools are coming to stay with us for it - Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute.

They both announced their arrival by putting on a short show. The Beauxbatons ladies classy and graceful with actually birds flying out of them! And the Durmstrang boys were banging and swishing some magical staffs.

Every part of the night peeked my interest. From the talent fashion show put on by the schools to the floating candles above our heads. I hadn't ever felt happier than right at this moment.

As the feast begins to end and the students scatter to their dorms, Professor McGonagall approaches me just as she said she would. I couldn't help but love how her black cloak swayed as she walked. She looked so majestic and I hope to someday have a cloak like hers.

"Hello Ms.Roswell, are you settling in fine?"

I nod. "Yes thank you."

"We have arranged your room and belongings. And I've spoken to your new roommates. They will be very welcoming." She turns to look behind. "Ms. Chang would you like to introduce yourself?"

A girl I hadn't even noticed was following McGonagall comes in front with her hand out. She is pale and has the most beautiful raven hair I have ever seen with a straight fringe. She too is a Ravenclaw.

"Hello Lilith, I am Cho Chang and I will be one of your roommates. If you'd like to follow me I'll show your to our dorm."

Professor McGongall smiles warmly as I shake Cho'a hand. "Well I will leave you girls to it." She walks off to join the other professors.

Cho, Luna and I all walk to the Ravenclaw common room. It's a long walk, apparently our rooms are at the top of a high tower housing the most beautiful views of the castle and it's domain. But like couldn't they be a little lower? When I thought my legs couldn't walk anymore we found ourselves at a normal looking wooden brown door with what looks like an eagle knocker.

"Most of the houses require a password to enter, but at Ravenclaw we are given riddles to solve. I don't expect you to get them immediately, seeing as your... new to magic." Speaks Cho.

"I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough."

She gives me a quick confused smile and then proceeds to knock on the door. A riddle is given and answered almost immediately by Cho. Smarty.

I gasp as I enter. The Ravenclaw common room is one of the most beautiful rooms I've seen yet! It is a wide and circular with arched windows and a dark blue carpet covered in stars, which reflects onto the domed ceiling. The room has all the necessities and many bookcases can be seen. I think the walk to the tower was worth it after all!
