He is so unfamiliar, yet I could recognise him easily. There is a clear distance between us. Not a few feet physically, but a 1000 miles emotionally.
I can't stop looking at him. He slowly edges forward and I can't move. I'm frozen on the spot.Ron blurts out a laugh. "What's the matter Malfoy? Your girlfriend forgot you?"
Draco snaps his head to Ron and quirks an eyebrow. His glare so cold, he could have been a dementor. Ron's eyes flicker for a second, like he's expecting Draco to pounce. Instead, a smirk tugs on his lips and he struts towards me.
My heart jumps from my rib cage at his first touch in months. He brings up his hand and cradles my face as he brings his lip to meet mine. He pulls me into him. Our hearts against each other's. I can't tell who's heart I can feel. Both of them are beating equally fast.
Everything vanished and the world fell into place. Only now do I see the familiar Draco. I return the kiss, placing my hand on his neck and pulling his closer. His free hand going up the length of my spine before tangling itself in my hair.
"Bloody Merlin, I'm gonna vomit." Ron interrupts.
"For once, I'm happy you ruined something Ronald." Hermione spits.
Draco sighs, leaning his forehead against mine. "You haven't forgotten me, have you?" His gasping breathe flutters against my skin.
"I haven't..." I whisper.
"Lily, are you coming with us?" Hermione asks looking awfully disgusted.
"She probably wants to snog her boyfriend some more."
I glance around uncomfortably. Draco eyes me up and down with this new, stronger possessiveness in his eyes making me shudder. "I should catch up with Draco..."
"Suit yourself." Ron, Hermione and Harry proceed to walk past us.
"Do watch yourself Weaselbee. You might-"
Ron stumbles forward, almost landing flat faced on the concrete.
"-trip." Draco finished and I see his leg had been extended to conveniently trip Ron. Ron's face twists in anger and his ears turn bright red and he struggles to calm himself. He curses under his breath as Harry and Hermione lead him away.
"Must you do really do that?"
Ignoring me, he leans in again and plants a quick kiss on my left cheek, then my right, before finally pecking me lips.
"Did you miss me?" He asks, smiling devilishly."You know I did... Did you miss me?" I return the question.
"I wouldn't be kissing you if I didn't."
"You didn't send me any letters."
"I don't do letters."
"Neither does Ron, and yet even he sent me one."
"Don't compare me to poor Weaslbee." His face twists up and he scrunches his nose, like being compared was the worst thing imaginable. To him, it probably was.
Draco turns to his friends - Crabbe and Goyle who stand uncomfortably where they're not wanted. Draco flicks his hand at them and like obedient lap dogs, they run off. Draco's hand wanders around my waist, before he grips on and pulls me closer as we walk. "I've really missed you."
I enter-twine our fingers. "You big softie."
If I'm not mistaken, for a split second his cheeks turn into a pale pink. "...Want me to push you off the bridge again?"
"Preferably no."
"Am I a softie?" He repeats. I nod. He leans in close, shaking his head slowly. "Answer correctly... I'll give you a present if you do."
