The next two months fly by at Hogwarts. Soon enough, the green fields and hills are layered up with snow. The remaining leaves hanging on for dear life have fallen, exposing the trees. The weather has gotten a lot colder and a lot more brutal,  the raw air stings my bare skin, so most of my time is spent wrapped in blankets by the roaring fire in the common room.

In other news, my wound is completely gone, just in time for the upcoming Yule Ball on Christmas. A night of dancing and fun, celebrating the Triwizard Tournament. So far in events we've had the four contestants fighting dragons, big ones, not baby ones like Hagrid's...

Draco and I have gotten more distant than ever. He avoids me, it's obvious. He changes all the time, like the weather, the guy is bipolar. Either he's clingy or distant. But I'm okay, Cedric and I have gotten really close as friends. He even asked me to the Yule Ball...

We sat in close proximity on a bench on the school grounds, on a frosty, foggy day. Discussing the tournament and the clues the golden egg could hold.
He was rubbing his hands together. I though he was cold, but he was in fact nervous.

"Enough about the tournament, I'm sure you're more interested in the Yule Ball. You looked like you enjoyed yourself, when we practised dancing."

"Yeah, it sounds fun..."

"Who are you going with?"

"No one." I force a smile. No one had asked me, and Christmas break was approaching, everyone will leave soon. I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Everyone had their dates, even Malfoy. "No one asked me."

"Can I ask you?" He asks smiling sheepishly looking at me. "Umm, do you want to go with me?"
I feel myself wanting to smile and bite my lip like an idiot. I felt happy and relieved. The most handsome guy at school has asked me. This is just like a cliche true love story.

"Ohh wow... Yes of course I want to!" I laugh, un containing my excitement. A wide smile plasters across his and he gathers my hands into his.

"Ohhh I'm glad. I was nervous... But now I'm just relieved. It'll be amazing-" he stops and looks behind me. "Why is Malfoy staring at us. What a creep."

"He's what?!" I shout unexpectedly and turn to look behind me. A foggy figure stands leaning against a tree, one foot planted against it. I try to focus through the fog. It is him. His platinum hair and eyes throwing daggers make him easily recognisable.

"Do you want to talk to him?" Asks Cedric, with his face down.

"What? No, why would I?"

"It's just... he seems eager to talk to you. Staring at us for so long. It's like he hates you or is hungry for you with passion..."

"Don't be ridiculous Cedric!" He lets go of my hands and stands. "I better let you too sort it out." He leaves and shoves his hands in his pockets. I stand to follow him but when I do, I end up going the opposite way. To Malfoy.

I march through the crunching snow as Malfoy stands and smiles smugly. Pleased. I couldn't help but notice how good he looked. His hair flopped lazily, his silvery blue eyes sparkling against the snow, wearing his winter coat and hat fitting perfectly. For the first time, his pale face is a pinkish colour from the cold.
