"Lucy! You can't go charging topside and expect to fight them all." Riona grabbed her by the shoulders. "You still need to train with harmonic energy!"
Lucy attempted to push her away. "Look, I appreciate what you're trying to do but this is urgent." She stormed off.
Riona stepped in front of her with both arms folded. "No can do, miss. Prepare yourself for the confrontations and don't be irrational." Her hair fell over her left eye.
"Riona, don't make me do anything you'll regret." Lucy gritted her teeth. "Please, my friends need me!"
"Fine, if you're going to go, then let me test your strength." A green aura emanated from Riona's body. "You can go once you beat me."
Lucy quickly exhaled. "Alright, you're on! Let's fight right here!" She shouted with purple energy erupting from her body.
The two faced each other with their auras clashing. Riona soon positioned herself with her fists in front of her chest. Lucy's wings stretched out while her fists raised above her waistline. They grew quiet before the ground underneath them rumbled. With a quick flash, they punched each other.
Riona struck her in the chest with an energy blast. "As someone who just tapped into harmonic energy, your body still has to adapt!"
The blast sent Lucy rolling onto the ground before she stabbed her hand into the soft dirt. She stood up and vanished within seconds. A quick punch connected with Riona's waist with energy pushing her back. Lucy reappeared above her and threw another punch. Riona caught it and struggled to push her back.
"It's fine, I can adapt while I fight." Lucy slowly pushed back on her. "That's always been my style!"
Riona held her other hand out and flicked Lucy on the forehead. A stream of energy blasted her away while Riona shook her finger. Lucy used her wings to break the fall and hopped back on her feet. She inhaled slowly before a pool of energy emerged from her body. It swirled over her like floating diamonds.
"Being quick to adapt is good and all but this is something that requires time!" Riona shouted at her. "I've spent years mastering it and there's still room to grow."
She closed her eyes with a sphere of energy leaving her body. It spun until the sphere exploded and blobs of energy surrounded her. Lucy took a step forward and flickered with great speeds while closing in on her. Riona's energy bubbled and splattered across the vicinity.
"If it requires time, then shouldn't I try it with my fights against the death reapers?" Lucy dodged the energy projectiles by flickering around them. "I can just crunch for time and iron out the finer bits later!"
Riona closed her eyes as she punched the air. Her energy pulled together from the momentum and struck Lucy in the back. She opened them and slammed her fist into Lucy's face.
"What will happen if you can't outpower them? Your friends will still be in danger because you didn't work hard enough!" Riona stared down at her with blood rolling off her fingers.
Lucy stood on one knee and struggled to push herself up. "That won't happen because I can win!" She wiped her chin while energy surged forth.
Her fist shook as she punched Riona back in the face. Riona returned with a punch to her shoulder. A shockwave threw the two back from each other. Lucy laid face down while grabbing at the dirt before letting go. Riona stared up while panting.
"You hit hard." She propped herself up with her elbows. "But it's still not enough to win."
Lucy slowly lifted her head. "Hnng, you have a point..." She sighed. "I just want to save my friends and innocent lives from this city."
