Dohee walked towards school besides her roommate. After the weekend passed she felt more comfortable around him as she couldn't remember doing anything else that could've embarrased her.
"Okay, I'll go now, bye Asahi!" She said as they parted ways but he pulled her back by her wrist. "Huh?"
"I, uh, good luck today." He awkwardly said and walked towards his class without a second glance. "What the hell?" She whispered to herself and walked towards her classroom.
"Hello mr. Jung, did anything happen?" She asked her homeroom teacher who paced around the empty classroom-they didn't have the first lesson on Mondays.
"Dohee!! I need to speak to you." He said and she looked at him with a worried face. "Is everything alright?" She asked and he sighed, while making her sit down at one of the tables in the front while he locked the doors and closed the blinds.
"Uh, mr. Jung?"
"Listen. The firefighters found out what caused the fire. It was a cigarette and they found DNA on it."
"Well who is it?" The girl asked, her body tensed up as she looked at her teacher. "It's Jangmi. She was most likely the one who started the fire by throwing the cigarette in the bin filled with papers. She's currently at the police station, talking to the police officers."
Dohee gasped slightly as the thought of her ex best friend trying to kill her ran through her mind. "N-No, she would never do that." The girl mumbled but her teacher shook his head.
"For your own safety you will be switching classes. Jaehyuk will accompany you to your room so you can take books for today's classes and here's your schedule." Mr. Jung said as he slid a paper in front of her.
The girl was still frozen, not able to believe her friend would do something like that.
There was a knock on the doors and a familiar male entered after the teacher unlocked the doors. "Sir, you wanted to speak to me?"
"Oh, yes Jaehyuk. You will accompany Dohee back to her dorm to get her books."
"Alright. Dohee? Come, let's go." He said while holding her shoulder lightly. "I, uh, goodbye sir." Dohee bowed at her homeroom teacher, Jaehyuk following the action, and they made their way towards the exit.
The walk was silent, her thoughts were filled with questions and her body was tense. Her friend noticed it so he held her hand. "Don't worry, it's going to be alright."
"Thank you." She mumbled while a big smile formed on the boy's lips. "We're all going to protect you and maybe she wasn't even planning to harm you. Maybe it was an accident?"
"I hope so." Dohee pouted as they entered the room she shared with Asahi. Her legs moved towards the desk where her books were placed and she took out the ones she didn't need and put in the ones she had today. "Alright, we can go back."
In no time they were back and in that time, Jaehyuk accomplished to bring a small smile on her lips. "Look, if you don't want her bothering you, you can't show her she's winning."
"Okay. Thank you Jaehyuk, it really means a lot to me." She said and wrapped her hands around his body, hugging him tightly to which he returned the action.
"Okay, I've got to go to my class now. Take care and stick around the rest, alright?" The girl nodded and walked towards the doors that just opened and a teacher walked out.
Her eyes scanned the room and a familiar guy caught her standing there so he looked at her with a confused face. She did a peace sign before someone cleared their throat behind her and she jumped slightly, starled by the sound. "Miss Kim please follow me inside, the class is about to start."
The girl nodded and followed after the elder lady. "Good morning class." She said as she made her way towards the centre where her desk was placed, Dohee trailing after her.
"Today we have a new student, please be nice to her." The woman said and the whole class filled with whispers while her friends looked at her with a confused expression.
"You can take any free seat." She finished and the young girl nodded her head, walking towards her roommate who had an empty seat next to him. "May I sit here?" She asked and he nodded quickly, moving his bag from the chair.
"Okay class," The teacher started but Dohee paid no attention to her as she felt a slight tap on her shoulder which made her turn around towards her old classmate. "What are you doing here?"
"It's a long story." She chuckled and was about to turn back to the front but stopped and smiled at him widely. "We're classmates again."
Junkyu also smiled. "I guess we're meant to be." Dohee tsked and hit his shoulder lightly before turning back towards the front to pay attention to the class - she didn't want anymore bad grades.
