Letters; a Jegulus story

chapter 7

The next morning Regulus woke up and immediately felt terrible about what happened with him and James. It's just looking at him sometimes would just randomly make him angry and also his brother being there it was just asking for a disaster. But not only did Regulus feel terrible about what he said but he also was mad that he had lost his temper and showed it so clearly. Regulus knew that he had to apologize to James.   

During his class Regulus just thought about James and how to approach him. Soon Regulus finished his last classes and he had as much of a plan as he had when he woke up that morning.

As Regulus walked down to dinner he was thinking about what to say to James. He had just decided to find him alone after dinner when for the second time he ran into James. Literally. Again.

"Oh um James I'm sorry. I uh-" James cut him off. 

"No need to be sorry it was my fault." As Regulus looked at him he felt his ears go red.

 "No um James I'm sorry about yesterday I-I shouldn't have yelled at you." Regulus hung his head low about to walk away.

When James spoke in a surprising upbeat voice. "HA you called me James I knew we were friends." At this Regulus looked up a faint smile on his face. He looked at James he had his trademarked crocked smile on his face and his eyes were filled with joy and happiness. Seeing James like this gave Regulus a weird feeling he decided he better leave before anyone saw him with James. 

"Well Bye Po-James."

As Regulus walked to dinner he couldn't help but smile which was a rare occurrence. 

This smile however did not last long. 

As Regulus sat down an owl came in and Regulus recognized a familiar owl that he recognized as Narcissa's. The owl flew right to him and dropped a letter before flying away. Regulus looked around everyone around him was invested too in there own conversation to notice him or a random owl that flew in so he opened the letter.

To my dearest Regulus A. Black

I am writing to inform you that I am have just married Lucius Malfoy. We are very happy together and his family as you know is a very wealthy successful of course not as wealthy as the most noble house of Black but still. My mother is very proud of me and much more proud of me then she is Andy (I cant really talk about it but she married a mudblood Ted Tonks and she got disowned.) 

I miss you so much. Also I over heard your parents talking and all I have to say is I'm truly sorry I know you don't want to but your going to have to join them. 

Remember stay away from Sirius or your parents will kill both of you. I also heard my mother say that your parents had found Sirius a wife but sense he ran away your mom has no idea what to do.

Regulus please stay safe while your at school and at home for that matter. I love you so much and I miss you

Regulus wanted to sob he knew what your going to have to join them meant but he didn't want to except it. Regulus pushed the note to the bottom of his pocket when he stood up his legs turned to jello. Regulus grabbed the table for support took a deep breathe then walked out of great hall.

As soon as Regulus got out of sight of the great hall tears started to pour down Regulus' cheeks. Regulus didn't know where he was going but he just kept walking. Soon Regulus had arrived at where his legs were taking him, the top of the astronomy tower. As soon as Regulus got there his legs stopped working he collapsed and just started sobbing harder then before.

 Regulus sat on the floor leaning against the wall for what seemed liked hours before he heard a voice. "Hey Reggie um-" it seemed as if he had just noticed that Regulus was crying. He rapped his warm arms around Regulus and hugged him tight at first Regulus flinched and tried to get away but after a second Regulus cried into James shoulder. "Hey everything's gonna be okay, trust me." Then James squeezed harder and Regulus continued to cry but now less heavily.

A few more hours past before Regulus stopped crying completely but James held onto him the entire time which made Regulus feel safe.

"I- I'm sorry, you- you shouldn't have had to stay here." Regulus wanted to release himself from James' arms but he was holding on to tight so Regulus just sat there. 

"Is it ok if I ask what happened?" A few more tears rolled down Regulus cheek as he handed James the letter from Narcissa which was now crumpled and wet although Regulus didn't know how it got wet but James seemed to still be able to read it fine. James turned pale and squeezed Regulus more tightly "Does- does she mean that she your parents want to make you a- a death eater?" Regulus nodded. 

"A few weeks ago my mom had sent me a letter saying she had a surprise I had decided she had either found me a wife or a way to become a death eater I suppose I now know she meant death eater."

Regulus wanted to start to cry again but he managed to stop himself. He looked up at James, his face was pale with shock and his eyes were red as of he to had been crying. His eyes were still so kind it was hard to believe he could ever be sad.

"Well I guess we will just have to hide you from your parents either way." James stood up stretched, straightened up his cloak then offered Regulus a hand. 

"And how am I supposed to do that?" Regulus asked as he took James hand. A shock wave when through him as there fingers touched. 

"Come stay with me during the break easy." Regulus tried to hide how much he wanted to say yes. 

"I couldn't do that my parents would be suspicions and would probably disown me as well." 

He looked at James who simply smiled "Well I guess we will just have to figure something out.

Hey Sorry there is kinda a lot of stuff in here I wanted to cut out James coming in and seeing Regulus and just save that for next chapter but then it would just be to short but I hope you enjoyed! Also sorry it's late I forgot to post it yesterday!
