Luke's POV:

Luke was pretty shaken up after that....thing with Julie on Saturday. He didn't really know how they had gotten so close, or why his whole body burned with the need to be just a little closer. However, Luke did know that Julie had run away from him the moment that he thought he would give in to himself.

He hadn't seen her all day and he wasn't complaining. Luke was glad to have some time to get it together before he had to see her. His next class was Music and Mrs. Harrison was giving them a work day. Great.

When Luke walked into class, Julie was sitting with Alex, Reggie, and Flynn. The last two hadn't stopped talking since Saturday. "Hey guys", Luke sat in the seat between Alex and Flynn. Julie beamed at him, "Hey! You ready to work?" His stomach flipped at her smile, "Yea, I'm pumped! The song sounds great already."

Alex and Reggie shared a look before Alex spoke up, "Actually, Reg and I were thinking that you and Julie could write together and then call us to work on our parts. You know, since you guys do most of the writing anyway."

Luke's eyes snapped to Julie but she seemed calm, "Yea we can work at my house." Luke shook off his nervousness at her proposal, "Uh, sure. I'll text you." He would have been completely freaking out had it not been for the blush that creeped onto Julie's face.

After school, Julie texted Luke to come write. He headed over and when he stepped into the studio Julie was sitting behind the piano, eyes closed, working on a melody that he hadn't heard before. It was beautiful and emotional. Julie must have felt him there because she opened her eyes and stopped playing. Before Luke could ask about the song, she was nodding her head for him to come, "So, I had an idea about the song." Luke went to sit by her on the piano bench. She continued, "What if we had Reggie join you with the harmony on the pre-chorus?"

Luke was in awe of her. He'd never met someone who was just as passionate about music as he was. Julie breathed music. Luke didn't stop himself fast enough, "You're perfect." Shoot. Julie snapped to face him and she was blushing. He tried to recover, "Uh- I mean you- your idea was perfect. F- for Reggie." Julie moved to the piano again and cleared her throat, "Right. Yea, anyways, where were we?" Luke could feel his cheeks getting hot. He ran a hand down his face, this girl.

Right then, the door was pulled open and Luke shot up from the piano bench like the flash. Julie's dad came in, "Hi mija. I'm- who's this?" Luke swallowed hard but Julie saved him, "Oh, hi Papi. This is Luke. He's from school and we're working on the project remember?" Julie's dad came closer, "Right, sorry I forgot," he held his hand out, "I'm Ray, Julie's dad." Luke shook his hand, "Hi. Thanks for letting us work here, sir." Ray let go and chuckled, "No problem, and you can call me Ray."

"So, Papi. Did you need me?", Julie asked.

Ray returned his attention to her, "Oh, yea. I just wanted to let you two know that I have to run to do some work at the studio. I won't be back for a while but there's some leftovers in the fridge."

Luke's heart skipped and then dropped to his stomach. He would be alone with Julie...Luke could not be alone with Julie. It's not that he didn't want to be, but he didn't trust himself to be. Luke needed a way out but apparently Julie wasn't going to help him, "Okay thanks, Papi. We'll be good." Ray smiled, "Ok. It was nice to meet you Luke." Luke stammered, "Yes sir- uh Ray. It was nice to meet you too." Ray chuckled and left.

Julie sat back down but Luke had to put some distance between them. He went to sit on the couch but Julie threw him a confused look. "Are you okay?" Luke tried to be normal. He pulled his notebook out and flipped to their song, "Yea. I just wanted to write in Reggie's harmony." Julie wasn't convinced, "You know, my dad is chill. He likes you." Luke looked at her, "Yea, I just- parents don't usually like me." Julie didn't need to know that the real reason he was freaking out was because of her. She got up and came to sit by him, dang it. "Well then, they suck.", Julie smiled at him. He was a goner. "I just don't want you to ever get in trouble because of me. The boys' parents think that I'm a bad influence because I got them into music." Why did he just tell her that? Julie looked at him and something like anger flashed her face before she smiled  sweetly, "Luke, my dad loves anyone who loves music, he married my mom. He will like anyone that I like." Luke felt his heart skip, she liked him?

Julie must have realized what she said because she pulled her eyes to the floor and started blushing. Luke wasn't thinking when he brushed a loose curl out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. He loved her hair, he wanted to tug at each spiral and watch it bounce back. She looked up at him and his eyes slipped to her lips. Before he knew what he was doing Luke closed the space and swallowed her next breath.

Their lips moved together like they'd only been made for each other. Her hands moved to tug him closer by the hair at the nape of his neck. He was cupping her face and the kiss was growing more intense. Wait, what the heck was Luke doing? He'd known this girl for barely four days!

Luke pulled away and they were both heaving. He could still feel the ghost of her tingling on his lips. Luke let go of her and she looked at him, nervously. "I- I don't know why I just did that. I'm sorry, I  shou- I'm gonna go." He shot up from the couch and grabbed his book, he had to get out of there.

Luke really needed to learn some dang self-control.
