"THIS IS FUCKING LAME," Malfoy complained as Eris continued dragging him along through the festival with Blaise and Rosier. He watched distastefully as first and second years squealed and ran around the festival flaunting their won stuffed animals towards their friends. He knew that the Professors probably gave everyone who played a stuffed animal. A participation trophy if you will.
Aurora scrunched her nose. She didn't not like Malfoy. She just didn't like the complaining, which made up about half of his personality. He was also just a downright asshole at times. "Do you enjoy anything Malfoy?" Aurora asked him.
Draco chuckled to himsself. A cocky smirk placed on his face. "Well there is one thing I quite enjoy —" Before he could get the words out Eris reached up quickly and slapped the back of the boys head.
Draco flinched and grabbed his head. "I'm surprised you can even reach the top of my head, you fucking elf," he told Eris snidely as he rubbed his stinging head.
Eris rolled her eyes, "shove off."
Eris and Draco walked quietly side by side behind the group. It was an odd sight. The front half of the group were cheery and laughing, looking wildly at all of the booths the school had set up. While Draco and Eris looked dark. They had solemn expressions on their faces. "Have you heard?" Eris whispered into Draco's mind, causing the boy to jump next to her.
He scowled. He hated how easily she got into his mind. "Get out of my head," He hissed in his mind.
Eris rolled her eyes, continuing to look straight ahead, not to raise suspicion. "This is the only way to speak without being over-heard. Have you heard about Amelia Bones?" She asked him.
The previous Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement had been murdered in her own home. Reports say the Dark Lord killed her himsself. Most likely for her conspiring against him so hard. That's typically what happened to people who went against him, they wound up dead. Eris Avery quite liked being alive, so she would do as he wished. She also couldn't let her parents down. Their families legacy is riding on her shoulders and her shoulders alone.
Draco scanned his surroundings quickly. No one was even paying them any attention. "Of course I've heard." He told her sternly. Why wouldn't he hear about it? He's also heard the whispering amongst the students about his family's alleged involvement.
"His army is growing. He has werewolves now."
Draco didn't respond. He didn't know what to say, so he just glanced at his perfectly polished shoes. Watching the earth crunch beneath his steps. "Can I tell you a secret?" She giggled into his mind.
