Marcus had finally finished wrestling Evanora into the car and sighed. He looked towards the door wondering what was keeping Severine, he contemplated going back in but didn't want to leave Nora in the car alone. He had grabbed the keys out of the ignition before leaning against the car door waiting for Severine. Nora knocked on the window and he turned back to her, she had her nose pressed against the glass and was making faces at him. He smiled and stuck his tongue out at her before turning around annoyed at how drunk she had allowed herself to get.

Issac came out and he felt himself bristle with tension and worry. Why hadn't Severine come out yet? Issac gave him another hateful glare then disappeared around the corner of the building. Just then Severine finally came out looking extremely pale and shaken.

"What the hell happened?" he demanded.

Severine looked at him and just shook his head, "I'll tell you at home. Let's get Nora taken care of first."

He sighed and ran his hand over his hair agitatedly. They got in the car and headed to the apartment, deciding Nora would stay with them. Once they got to the apartment they helped her out of the car and up the stairs. It was a challenge because she kept trying to hug them instead of walking. They finally reached the apartment door and tried to take her to Severine's room.

"You said we were drinking!" she told Marcus with a giggle.

"I lied," he said flatly.

Severine sensed his mood change and stepped in, "It's time to go to sleep Nora."

"Pft maybe for you pansies," she said with a yawn.

Severine sighed internally but laughed, "Come on Nora, bed time. You're yawning so I know you're tired. Come lay on the couch, we'll watch a movie first."

He gently guided Nora to the couch and mouthed to Marcus to go get a pillow and blanket. He nodded, letting him know he understood and went to grab them. When he came back he saw Severine had indeed started a movie and Nora was asleep but not soundly. He shook his head amazed at how easily Severine had managed the whole thing. He covered Nora and put a pillow behind her, then sat on Severine's lap in the chair. About ten minutes later they heard Nora start snoring softly. He looked at Severine who motioned for them to go to his room since it was furthest away from the living room.

"How did you handle that so well? I was struggling to even get her in the car," he said.

He laughed without humor, "Let's just say after my mom passed away I got plenty of practice with my father."

At the mention of his father Severine went extremely pale and sank onto the bed, he put his head down and started shaking. Marcus went over to the bed and knelt in front of him.

"What happened Sev?" he asked as gently as he could.

"It's all my fault," Severine said so quietly he could barely hear him. It didn't help that he wouldn't look at him.

"Did you say this is your fault? How is it your fault?" he asked.

Severine shook his head, still refusing to look at him. He reached out to try and grab his hand but he pulled away. He was shocked for a moment, Severine had grown stiff at contact with him before but he had never pulled away. He reached out again and cupped his chin, gently forcing him to look at him.

"How is it your fault?" he repeated.

Severine shuddered, "I think...I think my father sent Issac after me."

He sucked in a breath and shook his head not wanting to believe it, "Why would you think that?"

He quickly recounted his conversation with Issac, "Don't you remember what my father said to us when I left? He said I would regret it." His voice caught at the end and his eyes were shining brightly with tears.

"Hey, don't cry. Sev seriously, stop, don't cry!" he said, he hoped he didn't sound frantic but he felt frantic. He got on the bed and pulled Severine towards him, he didn't pull away this time and he was grateful.

"If your father did send him after you we will find out. I wouldn't let him take you back, you know that right?" he asked.

He waited to see if he would say something but he didn't, there was just a little hiccup sob sound. He pushed him back slightly so that he had to look at him.

"I'm serious Severine. I am never going to let anything bad happen to you again," he told him in the gentlest voice he could manage.

"But what if he goes after Nora again, or you? How am I supposed to handle that?" he said quietly, a stubborn tear finally getting free.

He wiped it away, "We'll figure it out together. You aren't handling it alone. You have me. And you know Nora is going to raise hell once we tell her what's going on." He smiled hoping he could make him smile too.

"Nora's going to be so mad. She might not want to talk to me anymore," he said looking away again.

"No she's not. She's going to be fine. You two are still going to be crazy best friends," he told him reassuringly.

Severine just looked at him and his heart clenched. His normally bright blue eyes were dull with worry and sadness. He was furious at Severine's father and Issac right now but knew he needed to keep it together for Severine's sake. He took a deep breath and cupped his cheek.

"Let's sleep for now. Everything else can wait till morning. You need to sleep. Okay?" he said gently.

Severine just nodded, he gently laid him down and covered him. Then laid down beside him taking him in his arms. Exhaustion from all the worry caused him to fall asleep almost immediately. He stayed up for a long time after watching him sleep. He wasn't sure what they were going to do yet but he hadn't lied. Severine's father was not getting him back, no matter what it cost him.
