Darsi’s P.O.V.
All I needed from the store was my AriZona green tea and my Faygo and I was good. I wanted to get ice cream too, but I’m trying to stay away from milk this week. I take my Faygo up to the crow’s nest while Matthew goes and does… whatever Matthews do. I hadn’t played my guitar in a few days and I really missed it. I got her out and started playing “Night Changes” by One Direction. The moment I have been waiting for is here. Just me and my music, looking out over the rippling ocean, watching as the bright, golden sun turns into a rich orange as it falls below the horizon, the blue sea engulfing the now bright red sun shine, turning everything into darkness with the exception of the thousands of twinkling stars in the sky and the pale light being produced by the moon.
Matthew’s P.O.V.
When I had finished helping with the groceries, I headed back towards my room. As I passed the stairway to the crow’s nest, I hear music coming from somewhere. I try following the sound and it leads me half way up the stair case so I could hear the beautiful music being strummed from the strings of a guitar with the accompaniment of a beautiful soprano voice. Every note was perfect. I thought it was a recording, but as I went up higher on the steps, I see Darsi, facing away from the stairs, strumming each guitar string with great care and singing her heart out to a love song I’ve never heard before. “Even when the nigh changes,” she belts out with her perfect voice, “it will never change, baby, it will never change, baby, it will never change, me and you.”
I walked the rest of the way up the stairs, applauding her lovely work. She about jumped three feet in the air when she heard me clap. “Matthew! What are you doing?! You about gave me a heart attack,” she yelled. I started to laugh and apologize at the same time. I felt really bad for scaring her.
“You sounded beautiful, Darsi,” I assured her.
“You’re sweet, but you don’t have to lie.” She looks down, embarrassed that I heard her at all. I wish she could see how beautiful and talented she really is. I sigh and she looks up again. “Since you’re up here, you want to play a game?”
“Sure! What did you have in mind?”
“Well…”
