The Million Dollar Question

Darsi’s P.O.V.

I woke up this morning lying on Matthew’s chest. I sit up slowly and look down at him. He was so cute when he was sleeping. I whispered in his ear, “Thank you, baby,” and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

As I stand up, I hear, “That’s all I get?” It was Matthew. His voice changing from a low alto to a bass sounding voice when he first wakes up, making me so much more attracted to him.

“Come here.” He stands up and walks over to me in his pajamas. “Thank you, so much.” I repeat, even though he probably heard me the first time.

“It’s what I do,” he replied, looking down at me, our eyes locking. I give him a small smile, him returning the gesture. We both lean in, waiting a second before our lips finally collide together. We pulled away and looked at each other for a second before going in for another one. This time the kiss was more urgent, desiring. Sparks started flying everywhere. I had never felt this when I kissed someone before. It was… magical!

“Wow,” I said as we pulled away. “That was the best kiss I have ever had.”

“Me too, Darsi.” Matthew replied. “Um…Darsi?” He asked timidly.

“Yes?”

“Will you… be my girlfriend?” He asked, almost in a whisper.

“Oh my gosh! Yes! One thousand times yes!” I scream as I jump into his arms. I could never be happier in my entire life.

Matthew’s P.O.V.

“Yes!” She yelled as she jumped into my arms. Thank goodness! I’m so glad I can call her mine now! First, I need you to promise me something.”

“Anything, Darsi. Tell me and I will do it.”

“Can we please keep this on the down low? You can tell people you’re in a relationship, but we can’t tell them who with. Okay?”

“Okay. I understand.” I wish I could tell at least my best guy friend, Dawson, but I get where she’s coming from. “How long do you want to keep it a secret?”

“Honestly? At least until after you graduate. So… June I guess.”

“Okay. I can handle that, but can I at least tell Dawson?” I beg her to let me. I know he wouldn’t say anything because I would never shut up about her to him.

“Yes, you can tell him, but that’s it.”

“Thank you, baby. I love you!” I go in for another kiss, and it soon turns into a make out session. It lasted for about two minutes before we pulled apart. She looks up at me with a sparkle in her eye. “What is it?” I ask her.

“Nothing. It’s just… you’re an amazing kisser!” She states and I laugh.

“Thanks, babe.”

“I’m going to go down and get some tea. Do you wanna come?” She asks.

“I would love to!” I follow her down the stairs, hand and hand to the kitchen to see a confused looking Eric and Jered.

“What happened last night?” They were completely lost with everything, but that’s not unusual for them.

“I’ll tell you later.” I say as I walk by them, letting go of Darsi’s hand, so they don’t get any ideas.
