Truth or Dare?!

Third person P.O.V.

“… We could play truth or dare?” Darsi finished.  Matthew gave her a strange look. “What? We can’t go back to middle school for one night? This is what I’m making you do for losing earlier.”

“Fine…” He rolls his eyes and sits across from Darsi on the concrete floor. “Truth or dare?”

“DARE!” She yelled as loud as she could. She would do any dare anyone will give her, no questions asked.

“I dare you… to go jump in the pool, only in what you’re wearing underneath your shirt and shorts.” She hesitates, but remembers that she is wearing underneath her clothes. She peels off her tank top and denim cut offs, slowly throwing them onto the floor, revealing a black, plain bikini top with matching black bottoms. Matthew thought to himself, Wow. She is beautiful! Darsi races down the stairs and jumps into the freezing cold pool. Matthew has a towel waiting for her when she comes back up.

“I hate you sometimes,” she mumbles loud enough for Matthew to hear.

“I heard that!” He exclaimed.

“You were supposed to!” Darsi says back. “Truth or dare?” She sat back down, hoping he would pick truth.

“Hmmm… Truth.” Yes! She knew the question she was going to ask already.

“Are you taken, single, or crushing on someone?” He is hesitant for a few seconds, but finally comes up with his answer.

“I am single AND crushing! Truth or dare?” She screams with joy and suspense on the inside at the answer he gave to her.

Trying to keep her cool, she responds, “Truth!”

“I’m going to steal your question. Taken, single, or crushing?” He asks confidently.

“Now I am going to steal your answer. Single AND crushing!” Thank god! Matthew thinks to himself. “Truth or dare?”

“Dare!” She immediately regrets her choice.

“I dare you to tell the person that you like your feelings for them!”

“Um…”

Darsi’s P.O.V.

“Um…” is all I manage to spit out before I can think of a plan. I can’t just straight out tell him. What am I going to do…? Oh! I know! “Okay. I will, but you have to close your eyes so you don’t see who I’m going to call.” He closes his eyes, waiting for me to call someone. I put my phone on the ground, go in slowly, and kiss his cheek, slow and sweet. I let the kiss linger for a second or two before I pull away. He turns to me, wide-eyed. My cheeks flush and my whole body feels like there’s fireworks going off inside it. “Oh god… I’m so sorry, Matthew! I didn’t mean to, I just… I’m sorry.” I run down the stairs, tears pouring down my face. What was I thinking?! He doesn’t like me back, it was obvious now! Great going, Darsi! You blew it!
