pov of draco malfoy

My first night back home was rough. After Daisy told me she loved me, I fell deeper, I couldn't get enough of her. She had broken the tough shell that guarded my real emotions, and I wasn't complaining.

But my father will.

He's going to notice right away how much I've changed, and surely put an end to it. My father doesn't know about Daisy, and I plan to keep it that way.

I slept in Daisy's dorm last night, and at the break of dawn, knowing my father would arrive before the afternoon. Mum and I had lots to do to meet his expectations.

I kissed Daisy goodbye, and apparated home. Mum was waiting for me in the foyer of the manor, prepared to start our tidying.

I told her every detail I could about the ball. Every moment kept replaying in my head, and how beautiful Daisy looked. That image replayed in my head.

As the house neared being clean as possible, Mum and I were tired. We hadn't cleaned since the last time he was home, which happened to be 3 months ago. Of course Mum cleaned, but my father's expectations were high. If our home wasn't perfect, he'd blame it on us.

We didn't feel like finding out the outcome of that.

Mum and I found our places at the dining room table as the clock grew closer to 10:00, the time we expected Father to arrive.

"Listen Draco, do not bring up Daisy. You know you're father may react negatively-"

The door swung open, and my fathers booming voice filled the halls of the manor. "I'm home!" he shouted, unpleasantly. He seemed to be in a bad mood, but if I think about it, I've never actually seen him in a good one.

Mum stood from her seat and went to greet Father with a kiss of the cheek. I sat silent and still, staring into my hands. From the entrance of the dining room, I hear father say, "What's wrong with him? Too scared to greet his own Father? Pathetic." I stood up and gave into his words. Father gave me a pat on the back. "Why are you acting so strange."

"I'm not acting strange," I grunt.

"He's had a rough month with um... school," My mum says, trying to cover up my fear and anger. This comment however, wouldn't help, and I knew it. It would only lead to more questions and lies to leave our mouths.

"Don't tell me you're struggling in school, you know how that puts our family name in danger. Remember, I expect you to be the best in your year."

"Yes, Father, I understand. I am not struggling in school, it's just um," c'mon Draco, come up with something, "my bed is lumpy and I haven't been sleeping well." Really that's the best you got?

Father chuckles loudly, his grunt echoing throughout the home. "Lumpy bed?" he turns to my mother, "Who broke him?"

"Daisy," I murmur, to myself.

Father turns back to me with a furrowed brow, "What did you say, son?"

Shit.

"Nothing. I said nothing."

He inches closer to me, "It sure sounds like you said 'Daisy'." He levels his face onto mine until I'm staring right into his eyes, "Don't lie to me, you know the consequences."

"Fine. I said Daisy."

"Who's Daisy?"

"My girlfriend."

"Is she a Slytherin?"

"No."

"Pureblood?"

"No."
