pov of cedric diggory
I knew Daisy didn't want me to put my name in the Goblet, but it would make me look so brave, especially in Cho's eyes.

It's also been a dream of mine since I was 7, and not even Daisy knows that.

But that wasn't the only reason I entered.

"Cedric, Daisy, hurry down if you want to see your mother before she leaves!" my father shouted from the foyer.

"Coming!" Daisy replies as she grabs her coat. I sit still on her bed, not wanting to say goodbye. Both Daisy and I knew mother was sick, and this trip wasn't like any other. Mother was leaving with father to go to the CACWW (Center for Advanced Care of Witches and Wizards)

"Let's go Cedric!" she whines tugging on my arm, but I don't budge. I couldn't bare seeing mum in pain. I knew she'd be alright, and according to father they'll be back next week. "C'mon! Remember what you always tell me? How I'm acting like a baby? Well you're being the baby!" She shouts, still tugging on my arm.

"Just go down without me," I say, quietly.

"We're leaving," my mum shouts, her voice shaky and weak.

Daisy grabs me by the waist and drags me out of the room. "You're ten years old now, besides, we both know very well mum's gonna be gone for some time."

She continues to drag me down the stairs and into the foyer until we see mother in her wheel chair by the front door. Mum twists her head to look at us, "Ah there you two are!" her eyes are red with bags underneath. She wasn't doing well at all. "Come give your mother hugs!"

Daisy and I run into her arms, and she holds us with all the strength she has left, and smothers us with kisses. "I'll be back in a week or so, then we can celebrate your 8th birthday Daisy, alright?" she says with a weak smile.

"Alright," we both say, Daisy more enthusiastic then me.

"Daisy, go help your father with the rest of his bags, I need to talk to your brother," Mum says, then Daisy skips off towards the door, a bag in her arms.

"Cedric I've realized that you know I'm not as well as I say I am," she starts, "and I want you to understand I may not be coming back, at least not soon." Tears start pooling in my eyes before she can even finish.

"Promise me one thing, alright?"

"Yes?"

"Enter that triwizard tournament, it will make your mother proud."

"How did you-"

"Trust me boy, I know everything."

"But you and I both know how dangerous the tournament is, and when I come of age I'll probably just be too weak," I whine.

"Listen to me Cedric, I know how badly you want to enter. Please, for your mum?"

"I promise."

Mum passed that evening shortly after arriving to the CACWW.

Whatever Daisy says, I'm entering in this tournament.

As our professor walks us into the Dining Hall, my phone starts to buzz. It's Daisy.

"Professor, may I take this call?" I ask.

"Yes of course."

I press accept and buzzing stops.

"What is it? I'm about to head into class, as you should too!" I shout.

"Nice to talk to you as well, Professor Sprout is looking for you, where may you be?" Daisy asks.

"Um," I gulp, trying not to seem too suspicious, "I'm i-in the dining hall."

"Okay well I'll meet you there in a few, you left something very important, according to her, in her classroom."

"Um, alright, bye."

Then I hang up.

Goodness I hope she doesn't come quick.

"Alright, who's up first?" Our professor announces.

One by one the eldest students entered their parchment into the goblet. Finally, it was my turn.

I slowly step towards the flaming cup. My hands are slightly shaking from the anxiety building up in me. My parchment is in my right hand.

"You got this," my friend says behind me. I look over my shoulder and give him a small smile. As I turn back to the goblet, I reach in and drop the paper, and immediately it catches on fire and disintegrates.

The boys all cheer and run towards me, making me feel honored. Behind me, I notice the hall doors have opened, and there stood Daisy.

"I thought you- I thought you said y-you'd think about it," she yells as if on the verge of crying. To my surprise, a small tear comes trickling down her cheek.

I wish I could explain to Daisy how important this was to me, but she'd probably think I'm ridiculous. Besides, it was too hard to talk about.

"Dais- can we t-."

"No!" she shouts. "Bloody hell didn't we just argue over this two fucking days ago? I thought you said you needed it me! If you really needed me, you wouldn't enter a stupid tournament to prove what? You're strong and brave? Everyone already knows that!"

"Daisy I was going to tell you-."

"Sure you were!" she screams, her voice cracking "I've got to go to class."

Then she left.

I wish I could just talk to her, but opening up isn't easy for me, it never has been.

When mum passed I locked myself in my room for weeks.

I didn't even wish Daisy a happy birthday.

If only I had the courage to just-

Speak.
