Cedric was dead asleep on the sofa when I came back from my outing with Draco. He had a letter on his stomach, but it was probably best if I didn't invade his privacy.

I creep closer to him until I'm leaning onto the back rest of the soft chair. I lean over until I'm right in his face. Trying hard not to laugh, I yell at the top of my lungs.

He immediately yells and jerks up, we bud heads- HARD.

I try my best not to laugh so hard, the laughing only makes my head pound harder. I lean into the back rest and put my head in between my arms while Cedric lays back on the arm rest, grabbing his head. I know he's not completely mad, he's got a slight grin on his face.

"What the hell was that for," he groans. I lift my head and immediately I feel woozy. Cedric brings his hand off his forehead as a huge red lump forms.

"Whoops," I sneer, in a high pitched tone.

One of Cedric's friends walks from a hallway towards the exit.

"Oi, can you grab us some ice?" Cedric shouts. He shoots us a thumbs up and walks out of the door.

"Another one of your servants?" I ask, walking around to the other side of the sofa to sit behind him. His only response is a groan as he swings his legs, making room for my arrival.

As I sit down, Cedric places his hand to his head, as I do too.

"How was your date?"

"Brilliant."

"Did you kiss?"

"Shut up."

Cedric leans back onto the arm rest, still grasping his forehead.

"I want you to tell me everything that happened."

"Fine. We ran around Hogsmeade for a while, and um, I felt- happy. He was so joyful and nothing like I could've ever imagined. Then he took me to brunch at Madame Puddifoot's and-."

"Madame Puddifoot's? Please tell me he paid!"

"Yes, he paid. Anywho, we ate brunch and I um told him about mum- but then we laid a blanket out by the lake and he-."

"Hurt you? Kissed you? Left?"

"Cedric, calm. down. He um- asked me to be his-."

Before I could finish my sentence, Cedric's friend is back with ice.

"I'm here to save the day!" he jokes. Cedric and I both thank him and reach out for the packs of ice he brought for us. I ease the pack into my forehead, and I immediately feel my headache begin to subside.

Cedric waits til his friend has left once again to ask, "You were saying?"

"Oh right, he asked me to be his girlfriend," I reply, slow and hesitant.

Cedric face lights up with my news. "Really? Congrats! I mean, you can do better, but this is your first boyfriend!"

I was amused by Cedric's reaction. He's always hated the Malfoy family, and I'm just glad he isn't being overprotective. Hopefully he's gotten over that bullshit.

From the corner of my eye, a familiar owl comes zooming in through a window, flying directly above me to drop a letter.

As it floats down to my level, I grab it out of the air and watch our family owl leave the building. I flip over the envelope to see my father's favorite wax seal.
