Days passed like seconds until finally, it was time for Cedric's first task. Both Cedric and I have been dreading the bloody thing since he found out he'd be slaying a fucking dragon only 2 days ago.

Other than worrying about my idiotic brother, I've been happy- really happy. My father finally said yes to letting me visit the manor for the first half of Winter break, which was only a few short weeks away. Knowing me, that time will pass very quickly.

Professor Sprout took any Hufflepuff's who wished to attend the first task at the break of dawn. I, of course, wished to watch my brother and Harry, so I was up early. Dumbledore took the champions extremely early to do Merlin knows what. It was around 4:30 when Cedric woke me as he was leaving...

"Daisy!" Cedric yelled while he shook me in my bed. "Daisy wake up I have to leave!"

I peeled my eyes open and rolled onto my back, "This early? I thought you meant day break not fucking midnight!" I sit up in my sheets and rub my eyes.

"It's just past 4:30. I'm supposed to at the arena in 15 fucking minutes and you would've never forgiven me if I just got up and left."

I grunt and reach my arms over Cedric's figure, towering over me. "Good luck, I love you, and please don't die."

"No promises," he laughs, then starts towards the door.

"Not funny," I snarl, leaning back onto my bed.

As he exits the room, I reach to my nightstand and shut off the lamp, in hopes of getting another hour of sleep before I have to be up.

I grabbed my wand from its usual place and met up with the other Hufflepuffs. Not many were coming, a good majority were either Cedric's friends or fans.

"Alright kids, is this everyone?" Professor Sprout announced as I joined the group by the entrance of the commons. No one really replied her question, just nodding heads. "Alright then, lets get going! It's a long hike so hopefully we dressed comfy!"

I look down to my outfit- excuse me- my pajamas. I think I was the only one who knew the true location of the arena, everyone else didn't seem to dress quite as appropriate as I did.

As we exited the room, one of Cedric's friends walked over to me. This friend was one of the nicer ones. He had a girlfriend, meaning he didn't care about me that way. His name was Bryan, he was the only one of Ced's friends I repeatedly remembered.

"Are you as nervous as I am?" he whispers while we walk.

"Fuck yeah!" I reply, a little too loud. "Of course I am, he's my bloody brother."

"Sorry, I was just trying to spark a convo," he apologizes. His glance switches to the satchel around his arm, then he pulls something out. It seems to look like a paint sponge and a bottle of some yellow mixture. He holds the bottle up to me, "Face paint?"

I laugh a little, "Oh hell, why not." He pulls out another bottle of black paint and squeezes a little of the yellow onto his sponge. We both pause for him to apply it to my face.

The paint was cold as he coated it on my cheek. Next he squeezed the black paint onto the sponge after wiping the excess on his arm.

"There ya go," he says, admiring his work. As we run along to catch up with the group, I pull out my phone to see what he did.
