MALIA, SCOTT, ISAAC AND AMELIA STEPPED INSIDE THE PLACE WHERE DEUCALION TOLD THEM TO MEET WITH HIM. Amelia did not like this place, and she also didn't like the idea of fighting with her eyes closed.

They heard someone stomping something against the metal and they all turned around to see Deucalion on top of one of the containers, looking at them.

"Any of you know the term for what I'm doing?"

"Pissing me off?" Amelia asked while Scott did give the right answer.

"Echolocation."

Deucalion was impressed. "You did your homework!"

He chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I looked a few things up."

"And now you think you can learn in just one day what took me years to master?"

Amelia scoffed. "Told you he was pissing me off."

Malia decided to yell. "We were hoping for maybe a few highlights!"

Isaac nodded. "Yeah... or anything that can help us fight the double face thing without looking at it."

Amelia glanced towards him. "It doesn't have two faces it's just—"

"I can't pronounce the name."

Amelia clicked her tongue. "Right."

Deucalion raised his eyebrows. "Fighting blind is one thing. You haven't even learned how to walk yet." Amelia frowned. "An Orientation and Mobility specialist has to practice blindfolded with a white cane for at least a hundred and twenty hours before becoming certified."

"You pessimist," muttered Amelia, exhaling.

"Realist, Sealgair. I can't teach you to walk and fight in less than twenty-four hours."

Scott decided to talk. "Look, we know the odds are bad. But Gerard's got an army. There's a creature that can scare ordinary people into becoming killers."

"The creature now capable of killing you with just a look," added Deucalion and Amelia rolled her eyes. "You saw them, didn't you?"

Amelia looked up. "We saw people turn to stone. It was a whole Medusa type of crap. Real scary."

Deucalion frowned. "So why aren't all of you running for your lives?"

Scott stepped forward. "Because we don't run."

"Now that sounds like an Alpha!" Deucalion exclaimed, showing them a tiny smirk. "Let's get started."

Deucalion jumped from the container, landing in front of them before walking towards the four, slowly. Amelia nodded, kind of impressed.
