Robby and I spent the next hour or so practicing the kicks in complete silence. I was doing my last kick, I rotated and extended my leg, when I landed my foot back on the ground without falling. I mentally congratulated myself, proud of my progress.

"How are you done?" Robby asked once he saw me climb down from the tree.

"I didn't fall on any of them, so, I'm done." I said grabbing my water bottle out of my bag.

"Why do I get the feeling you don't like me very much." He questioned.

I scoffed. "Well you kind of put a sour taste in my mouth when you stood me up for our practice session yesterday." I said looking at my phone in my bag.

"Look, I completely forgot. I got caught up at work and by the time I was done, it was past nine o'clock. So, sorry." He explained sitting down on the tree.

"See, you could've texted me that you couldn't make it, that way I wouldn't have waited for you for an hour and a half." I say turning to him, placing my hands on my hips.

"I screwed up, I'm sorry." He replied. I closed my eyes and ran a hand over my hair. "Can we start over?"

"Seriously?" I asked sarcastically.

"Yes I'm serious." He jumped off the tree and walked towards me. "I'm Robby." He said sticking out his hand for me to shake.

I looked at his hand and then at his eyes. He raised his eyebrows at me, telling me to play along. "Lydia." I said shaking his hand.

"It's nice to meet you." He smiled at me, that beautiful, award winning smile.

"You too" I said half smiling.

"So how did you manage to do all of the kicks without falling off?" He asked me curiously.

"The sport I 've been doing for the past 11 years requires a lot of balance." I say walking towards the tree, hoisting myself up again. He follows closely behind.

"What sport do you do?" He stood on the tree a little ways away from me.

"Surfing." I respond smiling.

"Is that what you guys were watching on Sam's laptop, surfing videos?"

"Still on about that?" I asked leaning up against a branch pointed skywards. "Technically, yes. But it wasn't just a surfing video, it was a video of me riding my biggest and best wave ever." I smirked.

"Wait, why would a video of you surfing be on YouTube?" He asked confused.

"Your looking at the State champ of Jersey that's why." I giggled.

"Seriously?"

"Yes, seriously" I nodded my head.

"Well, I'll have to watch you surf one day." He laughed.

"Alright, but for now, get these kicks down so we can head home." I laugh walking towards him.

" I laugh walking towards him
