Ura struck with fatigue woke up with a disfigured grunt. The warmth from the open fire welcomed her presence. She was in a decorated igloo, placed with rugs and leathers and bones of various sea life plastered onto the walls of the igloo. There was no one present inside but her. Confused as to why she was alive after starving for years and fatigue from a previous shop robbery.
She slowly rose from the cot she laid on the fur blanket dropped down from her shoulders. She was wrapped in dozens of bandages, it wasn't just a few or so, it wrapped around her whole body. Granted through those years of living on the streets, a few cuts and bruises, maybe a few scars weren't healed properly even with her amateur healing ability. Her savior must have treated her wounds.
There was a door beyond that fire, struggling to get up Ura slowly walked to the entrance. Peaking out of the door as the wooden plank creaked, Ura saw a few white lotus sentries guarding the igloo.
She thought to herself, "Why are Lotus sentries guarding this igloo? I don't need to be protected or guarded. Heck, I am not even close to be dangerous."
Realization dawned upon her, she had heard a few townspeople that the Avatar was visiting the Southern Water Tribe along with Master Katara. The Lotus sentries only guarded places that were either dangerous or something that envolved the Avatar.
But this still doesn't explain why she was being guarded. She had no affiliations with the Avatar as she is just a random kid living on the streets. And she wasn't the Avatar cause the Avatar Aang was still alive.
"Oh!" She exclaimed. Maybe its was the Avatar that saved me. She thought of the bandages that wrapped around her, there is a possibility that either Master Katara or Avatar Aang that saved me. Her exclamation had alerted nearby Lotus sentries, they quickly ran to convey the message to the Avatar that the girl was awake.
Ura slowly closed the door, traveling back to the cot where she slept and started to daydream. To be totally honest, she was a bit eager that her savior might be the Avatar. Hearing tales from people on the market or folk tellers that sat on the streets. She had always admired what the Gang did to end the Hundred Year War. Especially Master Katara because when she was a young girl she defied gender norms and became one of the most powerful water benders in the world. These thoughts of admiration went on for a long long time.
*Time Skip
There Ura laid peacefully on the cot with the warm fire in the middle of the igloo blazing the air. It was night time in the Southern Water Tribe the temperature dropping lower than in day, but the warm temperatures had kindly engulfed Ura's body.
The door slowly creaked open, as a White Lotus sentry made his way to the side of the door entrance standing guard, another person had came in through the door. Slowly making her way to the peacefully asleep Ura. Her steps light as a feather, travelled to Ura as she planned to check her wounds. She had healed most of them but there's a chance that she may have missed something, may as well heal consecutively.
Ura's eyes slowly cracked open, her vision still blurry from her long shut eye. As her vision cleared, she saw a woman infront of her. The woman that she admired for so long, Master Katara. Her reaction time was a bit slow as she just woke up from her slumber.
'OMG!' She thought, 'Master Katara!'
She quickly rose from the bed to hunch down on the floor to greet Master Katara. Her eyes gleaming with happiness and joy.
"Hello Master Katara!" She thought, 'Hello? Really Ura, was that the best you could do? Ugh, I am so embarrassed.'
A short reply from Master Katara "Hello" complimented with a smile that reached her eyes. It was a genuine smile, something Ura hadn't seen in so long.
"What's your name?" Katara asked.
"Um..my name is Ura," a short reply with a stumble in the beginning. She could not believe that she was actually talking to Katara.
"Well, Ura. How are you feeling?"
"I am feeling refreshed after you healed my wounds, Thank you Master Katara."
"Call me Katara, Master makes me feel old."
"How did you know that I healed you?"
Ura went on explaining how logic on how she found out that Katara was the one healing her. Katara had complimented the girl of how clever she was. But one thought still remained in her mind, she decided to voice her question out loud.
"Why did you save me?"
"I saw your potential of being a Master waterbender, you already made a few moves that were at that level. And I was hoping on gathering a few waterbenders to learn the art of healing, you were a choice and an amazing one at that."
'Wow' Ura thought, she wanted me to be a healer just like her and a master waterbender.
"So when do I start?"
Katara chuckled, "Soon enough."
