"And this was not what I was expecting an adventure would be!"
Let go from the beginning shall we?
Currently, Ura, Aang, and Katara is on Appa traveling to Republic City. It had been a smooth ride, going from a few stops for some supplies. But Ura did not think that this was much fun than she had thought. The amazing adventures of the Gaang she heard increased her expectations on how this journey would turn out. Granted, this was only Aang and Katara, the rest of the Gang weren't here, and plus they were more mature and old than the stories.
Appa was to say the least very "Appa", Ura hadn't met an air bison before but he seemed nice. Well as nice as a giant fluffy animal can be, Ura is very attracted to fluffy things, so Appa was a win win situation.
Flying over the top of two mountains, the cloud separate into the view of Republic City. And wow it was exhilarating. Large and tall buildings stood, construction of new attractions and homes being built. It seemed like a city suspended into a lake, and two small islands, one that that looked like a temple and one a statue of Avatar Aang. It was a view Ura would never forget.
With Aang holding the reins, he led Appa to the temple island or Air Temple Island. Momo, the lemur of Aang's shoulders flew down to the landing area where a few people stood waiting, air acolytes stood where they traveled, looking up at the sky, awaiting Aang and Katara. The lemur landed on a man with Airbender tattoos, as he frantically grasped at his head to have the lemur get off him. It worked, but Momo had landed on the woman next to him. She was holding a baby, eyeballs formed under her eyes, instead of attempting to get Momo off, she simply just smiled at the mess of her hair.
Appa roared loudly upon landing, Aang airbended down first before giving support to Katara to come down as well. Ura on the other hand, brave and courageous jumped down from Appa into a deep crouch, which her knees proceeded to crack a noise. Don't worry, she didn't break her knee, its like cracking your knuckles but at a larger scale. She quickly ran behind Katara, attached to her side.
"Mother, Dad, its good to see you again," said the man, Tenzin who gave a small smile and went to hug his mother, also giving a slight nod towards Aang.
"It is Tenzin, I see that you have been busy with Jinora." Katara chuckled to her son. Tenzin had a child with Pema, a daughter named Jinora. She was currently sleeping peaceful, but when she needed something, boy was she a fuss. Presumably, Tenzin's and Pema's lack of sleep and distressed appearance showed that much.
"Tenzin, we'd like you to meet Ura. She will be staying here for the time being, as a student but also as your sister." Tenzin being shocked is an understatement, his mouth gaping wide, as it took sometime to process this new information. The age gap was definitely large between Ura and Tenzin, none or less they were sure going to be a nice duo, hopefully.
Ura slowly traveled from behind Katara to greet Tenzin. "Hello Tenzin! I'm Ura, I'll be your new sister from now on. Don't worry, I'll behave myself and maybe help around the temple if you allow." Tenzin quickly composed himself and greeted back.
"Its a pleasure Ura. Welcome to Air Temple Island..." (cue dramatic showcase of the building)
______________________________________________________________
It had been a couple of days of staying at the Island, but Ura had never ventured to Republic City yet. The reason being: Ura just having a kind-hearted spirit and an enthusiastic person decided that helping taking care of the baby was going to be such a great idea. She didn't learn her lesson from being the previous caretaker of the orphans on the streets. The good side of things is that Pema can finally have some rest and Tenzin can finally take care of things in the Republic City Council. Ura on the other hand, holds onto a crying Jinora, and sways around to calm the baby down.
"Jinora, I hope you aren't going to be a pain in the butt when you grow up."
Looking out of the island where a large golden structure was to be constructed. And a whole entire city for her to explore.
To be continued....
