When the Stars Fall (Stardew Valley Fanfic)

Introduction

Welcome to one of my ONC projects for 2021 where I am yet again tackling fanfiction.

What prompt did you use?

The main prompt I am using for this particular novella is the fifth prompt, "There is a terrible drought ravaging the land, but when the waters recede from the local lake/reservoir, they reveal something no one expected to find."

What fandom did you pick?

For this story I am writing for the Stardew Valley fandom.

Is there anything the else the readers need to know?

Originally this was planned as a sequel to a one-shot, but instead ended up being an alternative universe of where the OC (original character) I created for said one-shot ends up meeting Sebastian in a completely different manner than in the actual one-shot which in turn means he gets to be a suspect whereas in an actual sequel he would not have been.

Basically, the prompt ended up changing the idea already rattling around in my head up. Yes, I'm exploring some darker subtext from the games. Yes, a beloved canon character may very well be a villain in this, but that would be based on some of the darker subtext from the games. Sebastian is also on the spectrum, of Asian decent on his father's side and suffers from mental illness all of which are legit interpretations of the canon material, both of which can cause meltdowns for an individual.
