    Gasps erupt from the table along with rows of silence. My eyes down and Kio's directly at me, not a hint of anger but amusement?

    "Oh emma don't kid yourself, that's not what it sounded like at the ski trip," Mandy laughs. Her words catch me off guard, were people listening?

    "Why would I embarrass him? Girls fake it all the time, you don't even know how many times I've had to," I quickly defend myself.

    "So that's why you beg to swallow hm?" kio laughs. How dare he? In front of everyone, our business.

    "Can we all just take a chill pill?" Sierra laughs from the side of me.

    "No, I'd really like to hear why Emma is here to today? To suck the life out of everyone, she sure is good at that."

    "Maybe don't bring your temper to the dinner table," I kick Kio from under the table.

    "Kio why are you here, I thought mandy said you weren't coming?" Trevor asks looking toward Mandy.

    "I wanted this, you two are truly the life of the party. I mean seriously, what is it with you two?"

    "Us?" kio and I said in unison.

    "He thinks laying one finger on a lady gets them to bow down to them."

"It kind of did," Jaden snorts, I shoot him a glare.

"You know what maybe it did for a little bit, but I've made myself clear to him. Ha tell them Kio, how you were 'begging' to win my trust back," I say making sure to emphasize begging with two fingers.

"Seriously did your parents teach you how not to be a pathetic wimp? Mommy? Or even daddy ... oh wait,"

    Kio's face turns into a frown and he backs out of his chair going outside leaving an awkward silence around the table. Fuck, I messed up bad. Why would I say that? Everyone stares at me with a 'look what you did' face, before I stand up and follow Kio outside, he's walking to his car.

"You're kidding," Kio says with a laugh stepping closer to me, "you lied to me. You never told me about seeing kris, you know I told you to stay out of my damn business."

    He's right, and has every right to be mad. But did he forget Sarah is my best friend too? He could've even been mature and talked to me about it instead of making cruel remarks at the table.
