Y/N had closed the giant leather book and put in into the black painted bookshelf. He had done it, he had read every book within his room and the outcome, zilch. No reasons or explanations for his powers, or even why he was still alive.
"I need something to relax me a bit" he said to himself, putting on some shoes before heading out. He went out of his room and closed his door, then headed down the hall. He entered the small elevator and headed down to the lobby. After his short descent, he walked into the lobby, only lit by the lights inside, as night in Hell, which didn't look that different from day, had fallen. He approached the bar and saw Husk asleep on the bar, clutching an empty bottle while he was snoozing. Next to him on the opposite side was Vaggie, who clearly had some stuff on her mind, was drinking a margarita and staring at the bar, deep in thought. Y/N decided he was going to get a drink, and maybe ease Vaggie as well. He began to walk towards the bar, ready to tap his inner Therapist Charlie.
Y/N sat down next to Vaggie, somehow she didn't notice him.
"Hey" he said, catching Vaggie off guard and instantly rewarding a punch to the jaw.
"Oh shit, sorry Y/N" she instantly said, redrawing her fist with a hint of regret on her face.
"It's fine" he said, holding his jaw. He got up and went behind the bar, fixing him a drink. "So, what are you doing down here?" she said, putting her drink on the bar in front of her.
"Just needed a break" he said, returning back to his seat, taking a long sip.
"Break from what" she said, wondering what the human could be needing a break from.
"Just some, personal stuff" he said, shrugging off the question.
"Come on, I know that face. Something's up, and the yelling from Charlie's office doesn't help your case" she said, giving her full attention to you.
"You heard that?" he said, almost choking on his drink.
"Yeah, and she told us that she had started therapy and we all made appointments" she said, picking her drink up and taking a quick sip before putting it back down.
"Oh, well I yelled because she was getting into some of the skeletons in my closets" he said, turning fully towards Vaggie.
"Ok, like what were they" she said, with a curious voice.
"Well, I really don't want to talk about them. Anyways, how was the hotel before I arrived" he said, trying to change the topic and taking a sip from his glass.
"You're trying to change the subject. Just say, I'm not Charlie, but I know when something is deeply effecting someone" she said, reflecting back on other people and herself who had dealt with this problem. Y/N had to tell her, or she was just keep tapping the glass until broke, and no one needed to know the truth. It would forever change his life. He had to think of something else besides his condition and powers, but yet that's where he decided to base a lie off of.
"Well, you see I'm just human," he said, trying to put him away from the truth.
"Yeah" Vaggie said, nodding at the obvious statement, but was trying to respect since he was opening up.
"And I feel like without powers or any abilities, I feel like baggage to this place" he said, finishing off his glass and putting on the counter, leaving it there.
"Oh, then why were you saying you was no better than some tyrants" she asked, still a bit confused on his explanation. Something wasn't adding up.
"Well, I had to, do some things to get here, to the hotel" he said, his leg bouncing up and down due to his nervousness.
"Wait, do you mean you had to kill someone?" she asked, with a surprised expression on her face. Y/N silently nodded, which he did kill someone, plus a lot of other people, and oh yeah, AN ENTIRE CITY. Vaggie began to chuckle and bit and Y/N became incredibly confused. Shortly after, Vaggie composed herself and returned back to Y/N.
"Sorry, it's just that you're comparing yourself to Hitler when you only kill one person? Listen, Y/N, everyone in Hell at least killed one person, don't feel bad, it was probably for a good reason" she said, reassuring Y/N. He knew he did it for a specific reason, the monster side of him hungered for chaos, and there was no stopping that.
"Ok, thanks for the talk. I'm gonna head to bed now" he said, before getting and waking towards the elevator.
"Wait, you said you wanted powers?" she asked, a plan forming in her mind.
'Wait, could they give me powers to replace my other ones?' he thought, clutching at the hope. He immediately turned around to face her. "Could you give me some?" he asked, eagerly waiting for the answer.
"It might be possible. I'll talk to Charlie tomorrow and we'll see what we can do" she said, ending the sentence with a smile, then returning to her straight face and her margarita. A smile beamed on Y/N's face, hoping that his luck was finally turning around. He stepped into the elevator, happiness flowing within him. He ran to his room, pulling his shirt up and looking in the mirror. The mark was still there, not pulsating, but just faintly glowing. He grinned, imagining that this would disappear, and the monster would die. He took a quick shower before hopping into bed, hoping tomorrow would be the change that would prevent any other 'incidents' from occurring like... he couldn't even think of the name without feeling immense guilt. He felt sick, but tried to ignore the terrible things he had done, which was impossible. He went to bed that, with a battle going on in his head. Hope and Happiness, versus Guilt and Depression, right now, the winner was unknown. He closed his eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep, with the battle still raging above.
