A protection instinct, going through his veins. That's all what Y/N felt. Nothing else. His home was attacked. The hotel had seen a fair amount of damage by a dangerous overlord. He was hurt. Everyone else had died, but him, and Charlie. The smoke filled the halls, clouding vision that would tell them if death was coming for them. Y/N was protecting Charlie as rumbles were heard below him.

"Y/N, what are we going to do?" Charlie asked in a shaken voice, the girl who was always optimistic was searching out for hope in the moment.

"I'll come up with something" he responded, not sure on an exact plan. He looked around for escape routes but debris blocked all ways of possible escape. Charlie could burn a hole through the wall and escape, but that would cause the building the collapse. After determining their was no exit, a loud thump was heard a few feet from them and the overlord stood in the broken doorway.

Then, Y/N got it. He didn't want Charlie to die. But he could, he could lose everything. He took a breath and let the darkness consume him, making him corrupted. The overlord looked in a mix of confusion and fear. Y/N grabbed him by the throat and squeezed. Squeezed until the light of his eyes began to fade, then his head became crystalized as the infection came from the closed hand of Y/N. Only after a few seconds, his entire head was in cased in crystals and frozen. Y/N smiled as he dropped the overlord to the ground, busting his head, leaving a spread of white and red shards, with some blood from the veins in his neck spurting out like a broken fountain. He heard a increased heavy breathing behind him, and he turned around to see Charlie. Terrified and her world shattered.

"You really are a monster"

And that's what crumbled Y/N. He went limp and went through the hotel floors, crashing to the very bottom.

Y/N woke up with a startle, barley recovering from the falling sensation he just experienced in his usual nightmare. He released his hands, which were gripping the mattress very tightly. He then proceeded to look around the room to remember that he was in the hotel. A perfectly fine hotel. He eased his breathing and laid back down, staring at the ceiling. Suddenly, he felt movement from his left and saw Charlie looking up at him.

"Are you ok?" she said quietly, just being woken up.

"Yeah, just a nightmare, that's all" Y/N responded casually, getting used to eternal torture that was his mind, which was more of a hell than Hell actually was.

"What was it about?" she asked, turning the lamp on her nightstand on, wondering what frighten Y/N so much to shake the bed furiously.

"I killed a dude and you called me a monster" he said, releasing a massive sigh, sitting back up and rubbing his face.

"Y/N..." she said softly, rubbing his back. "I would never call you that. If you killed someone random you would have a a good reason. Was it they way you killed them or who it was?" she asked, wanting to fully understand.

"The identity was someone random, not important. The way, I guess you could say was a bit, unique" he said, wording it where she could still learn the truth without many of the horrific and dark details.

"Oh ok. Well how about I make you some breakfast to get your mind off it?" she asked, getting up and putting on her usual suit.

"That'd be great. Thanks!" he said, slowly getting out of the bed and putting his shirt and shoes on.

"No problem. Love you!" she said, opening the door as Y/N was heading to the bathroom.

"Love you too" he quickly responded, as it was an impulse. Sure, he had told family whenever ending a conversation that he'd loved them, but with this whole relationship thing, it was a bit odd, but it felt right at the same time. He shrugged, trying to wake him up a little bit before getting ready for the day.
